Jeffrey Epstein’s brother is slamming federal investigators as “stupid” after they reaffirmed that the disgraced financier’s 2019 death was a suicide — and confirmed no further evidence will be released.
Mark Epstein, 70, has never accepted the official version of events. He told Fox News Digital that officials in New York refused to even give him the 911 call from the night his brother died inside a Manhattan federal jail.
He maintains Jeffrey was optimistic about his upcoming bail hearing and says the autopsy raised serious questions about whether it really was suicide.
During a Tuesday night interview with NewsNation, Epstein mocked the FBI memo. “Every time they say something or do something to try to quash the fact that he was most likely murdered, they put their foot further down their mouths,” he said.
The FBI’s 128-page report, released in 2023, concluded Epstein hanged himself while awaiting trial on federal sex trafficking charges. DOJ officials reaffirmed that stance this week, saying there is no new evidence to contradict it.
“When Kash Patel came out with that statement, I laughed at how stupid it was,” Mark Epstein added, referencing a Trump-aligned former intelligence official who backed the DOJ’s findings.

Meanwhile, Epstein’s longtime associate Ghislaine Maxwell was convicted on trafficking charges and is currently appealing her verdict. Until her appeals are exhausted, the FBI and DOJ are unlikely to release further evidence from their investigation.
Maxwell herself told The Guardian from prison, “I believe that he was murdered. I was shocked.” Her legal battles have already led to the release of damning evidence — including private island photos and flight logs.
While a contact book of elite names has been made public, the so-called “client list” often speculated about still hasn’t materialized. This week, the DOJ declared: it doesn’t exist.
