The Department of Justice is taking some flak this week after it released an 11-hour surveillance video taken outside of Jeffrey Epstein’s prison cell before he suddenly died.
According to the Daily Mail, President Donald Trump’s Justice Department released the video reportedly with the hopes of quashing conspiracy theories surrounding the events that ultimately led to Epstein’s death, which was formally ruled a suicide.Â
While the video itself didn’t reveal any bombshells directly, the fact that prosecutors had claimed in 2020 that the surveillance footage had been deleted, only to be released five years later, has stirred even more questions within the MAGA world.
Many believe Epstein did not kill himself and instead was assassinated by elite, wealthy types who might have had their livelihoods on the line if he were to have spilled any secrets.
What’s going on?
Many in the pro-Trump world are now questioning top conservative officials like FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino and FBI Director Kash Patel, who once questioned the circumstances around Epstein’s death, only now to have aligned with the story that nothing shady happened.
The situation has caused great strife within MAGA circles, as Trump’s DOJ is clearly attempting to put the matter to rest, though it seems like the strategy is backfiring.
MAGA influencer Rogan O’Handley called the attempt by the Trump administration a “shameful” cover-up, which echoed the concerns of many others.
The Daily Mail noted:
Release of the footage by the Justice Department was meant to prove that the disgraced financier and convicted child sex offender was not murdered despite a spate of online speculation that theorized Epstein did not kill himself.
But Trump’s inner circle is questioning whether the video and the corresponding memo tells the whole story.
Back in 2020, prosecutors claimed that the surveillance footage was destroyed “accidentally.”
The inconsistencies have fueled speculation that there are still many unanswered questions regarding Epstein’s death.
No client list?
Adding even more fuel to the fire this week was the memo from the DOJ insisting that the convicted child sex offender did not have a “client list” that everyone has been waiting for for nearly six years.
The Daily Mail noted:
The investigation, the memo states, concludes that Epstein was not murdered, he didn’t blackmail powerful figures nor keep a so-called ‘client list.’
It’s an odd conclusion given that Attorney General Pam Bondi has claimed on a few occasions that she was in possession of a so-called Epstein client list.
The situation is quickly spiraling for the Trump administration and unless someone has something that isn’t being shared and is willing to leak it, the conspiracies will only grow deeper.
