For years during the Biden administration we were told that the major, overriding terrorist threat was from right-wing, white nationalists. This was despite the fact that not a single such individual could be found on the FBI’s most wanted terrorist list. That list is dominated overwhelmingly by Jihadists and a few Leftist militants. The FBI also has a list of most wanted domestic terrorists. Once again there is not a single right wing militant or white nationalist terrorist on that list.
Meanwhile, Antifa extremists have committed acts of violence in Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Oregon, Washington, and California to name a few locales.
Despite these violent acts by Leftists, Democrat leaders have often failed to condemn Antifa and its violence.
Back in 2019, BreitBart.com published a video and article of Democrat presidential candidates being asked to condemn Antifa violence. Here are some of the answers that were given:
“I don’t know what Antifa is,” said Senator Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY).
“Tell me about Antifa, tell me who Antifa is so I can tell you whether that person should be condemned or not,” said Washington Governor Jay Inslee, who later claimed, “I was thinking you were thinking of an individual,” and added, “I don’t know exactly this organization you’re referring to, but if it’s the one I’m thinking of, then yes.”
“Thanks a lot for the question,” laughed Democrat primary presidential candidate Julián Castro in response to whether he would denounce Antifa.
“No, I’m not denouncing anybody,” answered Democrat primary presidential candidate Marianne Williamson.
Mayor Bill de Blasio (D-NY) refused to answer whether he would condemn Antifa.
To say that these answers are troubling is putting it mildly.
Then-presidential candidate Gillibrand actually expected the American people to believe that she didn’t know what Antifa is? In an age when elected officials are routinely called liars by their rivals, as well as the media, why did no one challenge her on this preposterous answer?
The answers given by these Democrat presidential candidates range from cynical to absurd. Why are so-called “mainstream” Democrats so reluctant to condemn Antifa violence? Do they approve of the organization? Are they afraid to condemn Antifa?
The organization presents a clear and present danger to the peaceful political process in America and a large part of our political establishment appears to approve of them.
No one epitomizes this more than Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
When Boston police arrested 36 people after a clash between Antifa and right-wing activists, 9 were charged with assault and battery on a police officer. Others were charged with crimes ranging from resisting arrest and disorderly conduct to assault with a deadly weapon.
Rep. Ocasio-Cortez dutifully promoted the crowdfunding campaign which provided the legal fees for Antifa members arrested by the police.
Both Ocasio-Cortez and Rep. Ilhan Omar repeatedly refused to condemn Antifa violence.
Imagine for a moment that the shoe was on the other foot. Suppose Republican elected officials refused to condemn right-wing violence or promoted a crowdfunding campaign in support of violent right-wing activists?
But more recently it has gotten even worse.
According to Axios magazine, House Democrats are reporting that their voter base is urging them to abandon law and order and embrace political violence, claiming that bloodshed is needed to stop President Trump.
The Left’s wrath is also being directed at law enforcement officers.
In California, legislators have authored legislation to prohibit police officers from covering their faces.
The left-wing publication The Atlantic, has joined the chorus of those demanding that law enforcement officers be prohibited from covering their faces.
There’s a good reason why police officers sometimes need to protect their identity and always need to take extraordinary steps to protect their personal privacy. They have been targeted by Antifa.
And it’s not just the officers who have been targeted. The Leftists have targeted their families. Using facial recognition tools commonly available online, they have connected the dots to identify spouses and children of law enforcement officers online, especially on social media. The Secret Service reports that children of ICE agents have been targeted.
Surely the radical Leftist California politicians and the “journalists” at The Atlantic know this. They just don’t care.
This is not a new phenomenon and Leftist militants have been identifying law enforcement officers and targeting them and their families for years with “doxxing.” States with responsible legislators, unlike those in California, have begun passing anti-doxxing legislation as a result of widespread incidents.
All of this points out that the Left has a problem.
Where are the leaders on the Left who are willing to condemn violence and extremism?
Why is no one calling for sanity?
