Two men were arrested in California after a brutal fight broke out in line at a GameStop — all over Pokémon cards.
According to police in Colma, the violence erupted around 9:22 a.m. on Saturday, July 5, when a man allegedly tried to cut the line outside the GameStop on Junipero Serra Boulevard. That move sparked a heated argument, which quickly spiraled into a bloody assault.
Officers arrived to find one man suffering from head lacerations and multiple stab wounds. He was rushed to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries, but is now in stable condition.
Investigators say 49-year-old Miguel OrellanasFlores of San Francisco struck the victim in the back of the head with a glass mason jar after a verbal altercation. Then, 27-year-old Isaiah Calles — also from San Francisco — allegedly grabbed the shattered glass and began stabbing the victim repeatedly.
Both suspects fled the scene in separate vehicles, but not before the injured man snapped photos of their license plates. Colma police later found one car nearby, while Daly City police located the second at a local park.
OrellanasFlores and Calles were booked into San Mateo County Jail and charged with multiple counts, including assault with a deadly weapon, battery causing serious injury, and conspiracy to commit a crime.
Video of the fight, obtained by KRON4, shows the chaos spilling into the street outside the GameStop. One of the men can be heard claiming he “already apologized” before the fight escalated.
The case is still under investigation, and police are urging anyone with information or footage to come forward. Both suspects are due in court on July 8.
