House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) can’t sing the praises of President Donald Trump’s One Big Beautiful Bill loud enough, and he explains why.
According to Johnson’s comments on Fox News, “you’ll see more of [Republicans] advancing these common-sense principles to deliver that American First agenda for the people.” The lawmaker hinted at more bills along the same vein.
Johnson and other Congressional Republicans worked hard to pass the massive omnibus bill before July 4, per Trump’s request for the budget bill.
Republican win
The Republican leader said he thinks the tax cuts in the bill will be a huge boost for Republicans campaigning in the upcoming election.
“Our Republicans are going to be out across the country telling the simple truth, and guess what? It will be demonstrated,” Johnson said.
“Everyone will have more take-home pay, they’ll have more jobs and opportunity. The economy will be doing better, and we’ll be able to point to that as the obvious result of what we did. So don’t buy into those false talking points.”
Here’s a list of the wins in the One Big Beautiful BIll.

What’s changing
The Republican House Speaker explained that this bill is going to extend the tax cuts put together by the Trump administration the first time around, which were passed in 2017.
According to Johnson, this targets middle and lower-income Americans, particularly the bottom 20% of income earners.
“We’re giving everybody a tax cut,” Johnson said, telling “Fox News Sunday” host Shannon Bream that many Americans will see the lowest federal tax rates they’ve experienced in four decades.
“That’s going to help the economy, it’s going be jet fuel. Small business owners, entrepreneurs, risk-takers, the people that provide the jobs, manufacturers, farmers get assistance here, and that will lift the economy.”
Money in pockets
The Council of Joint Economic Advisors put their stamp of approval on the bill, asserting that it will prompt about 3% growth across the economy.
The same group said the bill will create an estimated 4 million jobs and should increase the average household’s take-home annual income by around $13,000.
Johnson cited the group, saying, “This is a great thing for people who go to work every day. They’re going to feel that.
“We’re excited about the upcoming election cycle in ’26. Because people will be riding an economic high, just as we did after the first two years of the first Trump administration,” Johnson said. “This time it’s on steroids.”
