LOS ANGELES, CA – A mysterious sighting off the coast of Southern California has sparked intrigue after a video surfaced showing unidentified flying objects described as “flying Tic Tacs.” Captured by a US warship in February 2023, the footage was obtained by investigative journalist Jeremy Corbell and podcast co-host George Knapp.
Witnesses on the ship reported seeing four objects moving in perfect synchronization before vanishing. “All four of them jetted off into the abyss, synchronized like a 3-2-1 countdown,” one witness recounted. The objects reportedly left no trace on radar, raising questions about their origin.
These “Tic Tacs” lacked conventional propulsion systems—no exhaust, wings, or rotors—similar to a 2004 sighting near the same area. That incident was documented by US Navy pilots, adding to the intrigue surrounding these anomalies.
Ben Hansen, host of UFO Witness, noted that the region off Catalina Island has a history of such sightings. “We’ve been studying this area for years,” he said, mentioning the deep channel between the islands and mainland as a hotspot.
The video, though not raw footage, shows at least one object in formation. Hansen explained that multiple objects have been seen before, drawing parallels to the famous Nimitz case where objects appeared on radar only to reappear miles away instantaneously.
The frequent appearance of these objects near military assets has led to speculation about their nature. Are they otherworldly or advanced spycraft from another nation? Hansen considers the technology beyond current capabilities, citing the objects’ ability to vanish and reappear miles away as baffling.
The area is also known for sightings of spheres and city-like lights beneath the water, with reports of scrambled jets investigating the phenomena. Hansen noted that while the Tic Tac shape is common, the region hosts a variety of mysterious sightings.
In another incident, a triangular formation of lights was seen hovering over a Marine Corps base in April 2021. Investigative journalist Jeremy Corbell is still gathering evidence from direct eyewitnesses, including low-light photos showing an outline of a craft.
The Department of Defense is reportedly investigating these sightings, which have become more frequent amid increased government acknowledgment of UFOs or UAPs (Unidentified Aerial Phenomena). The National UFO Reporting Center has seen a surge in reports, with people more willing to share their experiences following recent congressional hearings.
