Iran was humiliated after both Israel and the United States hit them shockingly hard with some of the most legendary military missions in modern history.
Now, according to the Daily Mail, Iran has asked the United Nations to force the U.S. and Israel to pay for strike damage from what’s being described as the “12-day war,” and President Donald Trump has already laughed off the idea.Â
In a letter written to the UN by Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, it was also requested that the United States and Israel be blamed for the cause of the war.
Iran demanded that as a result of the United States’ and Israel’s “aggressision” that both countries be forced to pay “compensation and reparations.
What’s going on?
While it could be viewed as a Saturday Night Live skit, Iran actually demanded that the UN hold both countries responsible for the military actions and pay for what was wrecked.
‘We officially request hereby that the Security Council recognize the Israeli regime and the United States as the initiators of the act of aggression and acknowledge their subsequent responsibility, including the payment of compensation and reparations,” Iran wrote.
It was also explained that several hospitals and other humanitarian centers were targeted, going as far as charging the U.S. and Israel with breaking “international humanitarian law.”
Iran added, “While the full scale of the losses is under assessment, several hospitals and relief centers were targeted in grave breach of international humanitarian law, a few energy installations were targeted with the aim of disrupting daily lives of civilians.”
The Daily Mail added:
Araghchi warned that to do nothing would ‘seriously undermine the credibility’ of the UN and ‘engenders lawlessness in the future of international relations in our region as well as the international community at large.’
“It’s pretty ridiculous,” Trump said, referring to the idea of paying for the damage in Iran.
Doubling down
Iran state media reported that Araghchi said the damage is currently being assessed.
“A detailed assessment of the damage is being carried out by experts from the Atomic Energy Organization [of Iran],” he told state television.
The foreign minister added, “Now, the discussion of demanding damages and the necessity of providing them has been placed as one of the important issues on the country’s diplomatic agenda.”
It’s a joke to think Trump would consider paying for anything over there, and Iran knows it.
