Leave it to Democrats to conjure up accusations of antisemitism in their latest attack on President Donald J. Trump, the most pro-Israel U.S. leader in the history of both nations.
Reeling from their crushing defeat on Trump’s “Big, Beautiful Bill,” which passed Congress despite their dishonesty and dirty tricks, Democrats and their allies seized on a remark made by the president during a Thursday rally in Iowa as being antisemitic, a real knee-slapper from the party of Hamas-loving Jew haters.
“No death tax. No estate tax. No going to the banks and borrowing from, in some cases, a fine banker — and in some cases, sShylocks and bad people,” Trump told the crowd at the Iowa State Fairgrounds.

Shylock is a fictional character from William Shakespeare’s “The Merchant of Venice,” a 16th-century play featuring a Jewish moneylender. Over the subsequent centuries, the term has become a common reference to those engaging in usury, the lending of money at predatory interest rates.
Trump denied that he had any idea that the term is seen by some as an anti-Jewish trope and that he was only referring to unscrupulous lenders.
“No, I’ve never heard it that way. To me, Shylock is somebody that’s a money lender at high rates,” the president told reporters when confronted about the ginned-up controversy on his return to Washington, D.C. “I’ve never heard it that way. You view it differently than me. I’ve never heard that.”

A trio of Jewish New York Democrats, all of whom hate Trump with a purple passion, cried antisemitism, a convenient distraction after they failed to stop his signature piece of legislation, a crushing blow to the left-wing party.
“This is antisemitic. Plain and simple. Trump is just spewing hate,” declared the Senate Minority Leader in a post to X.

“I condemn Donald Trump’s dangerous use of this blatantly antisemitic slur and his long history of trafficking in antisemitic tropes,” wailed Rep. Jerrold Nadler (D-NY), a longtime Trump antagonist.
The term ‘Shylock’ is one of the most recognizable antisemitic slurs in the English language. It’s a centuries-old trope that has fueled discrimination, hatred, and violence against Jews for generations.

“This is blatant and vile antisemitism, and Trump knows exactly what he’s doing,” howled filthy rich Rep. Daniel Goldman (D-NY) who, as an heir to the Levi Strauss fortune, is one of the wealthiest members of Congress, as well as, some would say, one of the most dishonest.
This is blatant and vile antisemitism, and Trump knows exactly what he’s doing.
Anyone who truly opposes antisemitism calls it out wherever it occurs — on both extremes — as I do.
Where is @EliseStefanik and the GOP now that antisemitism is coming from Trump? https://t.co/PFoxu9DBZc

The Anti-Defamation League (ADL), which often ignores Democrats spewing anti-Jewish hate, also denounced the president over the phantom antisemitism.
The term ‘Shylock’ evokes a centuries-old antisemitic trope about Jews and greed that is extremely offensive and dangerous. President Trump’s use of the term is very troubling and irresponsible.

X users reacted to the ridiculous suggestions that Trump hates Jews after he just saved Israel by bombing Iran’s nuclear facilities.
You have to admit it’s pretty hilarious watching the party of Al Sharpton and “Globalize the Intifada” do “antisemitic language” policing every now and again.

You idiot that term is widely used in NY especially to describe loan sharks. Nothing to do with nationality, heritage, or religion. This is why the democrats hold no power in government. Sit the fk down

Let’s be real — Trump’s own daughter and grandkids are Jewish. The ‘Shylock’ comment criticizing predatory lenders. It was a poor word choice given the history, but the idea that it shows deep antisemitism just doesn’t add up.

Dan. I haven’t seen a single post from you condemning the chants of “from the river to the sea” or “globalize the intifada” coming from YOUR voters. You lying hack

A raging hypocrite who doesn’t practice what he preaches, Nadler has endorsed “communist lunatic” New York City mayoral hopeful Zohran Mamdani, a Ugandan-born Muslim bomb-thrower with a history of antisemitic rhetoric, including the war cry “globalize the intifada,” which has been embraced by a significant portion of the Democratic Party’s virulently anti-Israel base.
“Voters in New York City demanded change and, with Zohran’s triumph, we have a direct repudiation of Donald Trump’s politics of tax cuts and authoritarianism,” the unprincipled Democrat recently said, according to The New York Times.
Back in 2014, then-president Joe Biden apologized for his “poor choice of words” for using the term “Shylocks” in a speech, drawing a much softer rebuke from the ADL than Trump.
“Clearly, there was no ill intent here, but Joe and I agreed that perhaps he needs to bone up on his Shakespeare. There is no truer friend of the Jewish people than Joe Biden,” ADL National Director Abe Foxman said at the time.
