Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem disclosed a disturbing incident involving an illegal immigrant who engaged in self-cannibalism during a recent deportation flight.
The revelation came during a Tuesday roundtable discussion with President Donald Trump and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.
The former South Dakota Governor shared details of the incident while briefing reporters about immigration enforcement operations.
Noem received the information directly from US Marshals who collaborate with Immigration and Customs Enforcement on deportation activities.
“The other day I was talking to some [US] Marshals that had been partnering with ICE,” Noem stated during the roundtable.
“They said that they had detained a cannibal and put him on a plane to take him home, and while they had him in his seat, he started to eat himself, and they had to get him off and get him medical attention.”
The roundtable meeting focused on presenting details about “Alligator Alcatraz,” a newly established detention facility in Florida designed to house illegal immigrants awaiting deportation.
The facility represents part of the Trump administration’s expanded immigration enforcement strategy.
Federal authorities removed the individual from the aircraft and provided medical care following the self-harm incident.
US Marshals working alongside ICE personnel witnessed the disturbing behavior during the deportation process.
Noem characterized the incident as representative of broader immigration challenges facing the nation.
She attributed the presence of such individuals to policies implemented under the previous administration.
The DHS Secretary stated that the incident demonstrates how former Democratic President Joe Biden “let the worst of the worst come here.”
She refrained from releasing the identity of the individual involved in the deportation flight incident.
Noem emphasized the dangerous nature of certain individuals who entered the country illegally.
“These are the kind of deranged individuals that are on our streets in America that we’re trying to target and get out of our country because they are so deranged they don’t belong here,” she explained.
The secretary expressed concerns about public safety in American communities.
“They shouldn’t be walking the streets with out children, and they shouldn’t be living in the communities without families who just want to…raise their children to grow up and get a job, and to live the American dream,” Noem continued.
Current immigration enforcement operations target specific categories of criminal offenders.
“We are going after murderers and rapists and traffickers and drug dealers and getting them off the streets and getting them out of this country,” Noem declared.
The DHS Secretary praised law enforcement personnel for their dedication to immigration enforcement since President Trump assumed office in January.
She highlighted the commitment shown by officers implementing mass deportation operations across the country.

Noem described the newly established “Alligator Alcatraz” facility as a modern detention center equipped with advanced capabilities.
The facility contains 3,000 beds designated for housing illegal immigrant detainees awaiting processing.
The detention facility will process individuals for immediate deportation as part of expanded enforcement efforts.
Officials designed the center to handle the increased volume of deportation cases under current immigration policies.
