Following a brief 12-day dust-up in mid-June, Iran has formally demanded the U.S. (and Israel, for good measure) pony up compensation via the U.N. Security Council for the bombing damage done to their country. No, this isn’t a Babylon Bee story.
For those who have been sleeping under a rock, the fireworks started June 13, when Israel struck Iranian nuclear and military sites. Fast forward to June 21 when the U.S. used their bunker-busters at the Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan Iranian nuclear facilities during “Operation Midnight Hammer.”
Now, according to Breitbart News, Tehran has responded via a sharply worded U.N. missive, demanding recognition of the U.S. and Israel as the initiators of aggression – and yes, that includes reparations and compensation according to Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi.
Picture Iran handing the Trumpster a bill: “Three nuclear sites: $355 billion. Shipping & handling: none. Payable via UN escrow, Bitcoin or Venmo please.”
Iran’s letter also says that the political leaders of America and Israel are “also individually liable for the international crime of aggression under customary international law.”
Iran tried this compensation game back when Trump took out top terror architect, Major General Qasem Soleimani. When Orange Man Bad sent Soleimani to his 72-virgin retirement plan, the Iranians also whined about getting compensated because of that. Spoiler alert: they haven’t seen a dime – unless, of course, Biden slipped them a few pallets behind the scenes, Obama-style.
