One More Un-American Move by Tallahassee
SOLAR ENERGY SUPPORTS FLORIDA POWER GENERATION ONLY APPROXIMATELY 5.2 HRS/ DAY, ACCORDING TO THE NATIONAL RENEWABLE ENERGY LABORATORY (NREL). Yet the major providers, Florida Power &Light, TECO (Tampa Electric), and Duke Energy FL, who produce an estimated 70 – 90% of Florida’s power needs today are turning to solar to the exclusion of all other sources. WHY??
Last year alone, Florida built more large-scale solar than did California, and came in second in installation of residential solar systems.
Last year, Tallahassee enacted a law to delete all references to “climate change” from most of the state policies. Wow, that’ll help…
In my experience, a turd by any other name still smells like a turd. But DeGov said that so doing, returned sanity to Florida’s energy approach.
Just one Kat’s opinion, but sanity needs to be restored in Tallahassee.
Think on THAT one. Florida beat out CALIFORNIA, the leading globalist-disaster state in the nation. But it’s OK, as long as people don’t see the words “climate change” associated with it. Dear Lord.
Over the last two years, Florida utilities have spent $8.6 billion+ on the expansion of solar energy, the least efficient and most costly type of energy in the state, especially considering the 20-year low price of US natural gas that exists today.
Here are stats from FP&L 2023:
2024-2033 FPL solar + battery storage investment cost = $30.2B
Resulting annual Nat. Gas savings = $1.15B
FPL Payback = 26.3 years
Ratepayer Payback = 29.1 years
(Source: FPL 2023 Form 10K, FPL 10-year 2024-2033 power site plan, EIA Henry Hub nat. Gas cost 2024 avg.)
The utilities’ target is to have 45% of Florida’s energy produced by solar by 2045. The average monthly bill could rise from $260/month (1,640 kWh at 16¢/kWh) in 2025 to approximately $535/month by 2045, assuming consistent consumption. Will usage limits be imposed? Will “Smart Meters” just shut the users down when those are reached? It’s all in the Globalist playbook.
Those dollars spent on solar are raising costs to ratepayers across the state, and that will continue if Florida stays on the same path.
WHY GO THIS WAY??
There are even recent reports from researchers, of rogue Chinese spyware in inverters (which change solar’s DC to AC current), which came out this May. Reuters and Fox news reported on this, although Government officials were not yet ready to do so.
PLEASE read this article. We MUST have energy production that is safe, in addition to Clean, Abundant, Reliable and Affordable (CARA) in order for these United States to remain a sovereign nation. Any country that cannot count on CARA energy to power its industry, homes and social support structures will not remain independent. China understands that. Americans must as well.
Since DeSantis took office as Governor in 2019, Florida’s energy future has become all about solar – the “clean energy”. If this sounds something a Globalist would do, you are hearing it correctly. Once more, Florida’s governor proves who he really is Hint: Ron DeSantis is NOT “America First.”
But Tallahassee doesn’t use the word, “Climate change”. So it’s all ok.
When DeGov was elected, 74% of all Florida energy supplies came from natural gas.; 13% from nuclear; 10% from coal; and 1% from oil, according to Grok research.
WHEN RON DESANTIS TOOK OFFICE, PEOPLE COULD AFFORD THEIR POWER BILLS. NOW, KEEPING THE LIGHTS ON IS BECOMING A STRAIN ON FAMILY FINANCES, AND IS RAISING THE COST OF EVERYTHING ELSE.
From 2023 – 25, Florida rate payers have seen their bills increase, ON AVERAGE, statewide by approximately 20%. Customers of the big three, FP&L (Nextera), TECO and Duke Energy FL, have seen increases of 21% from FP&L, 28% from TECO, and 32% from Duke Energy. Nextera is a national leader in solar.
This is projected to continue and worsen, as more and more solar farms and battery installations are developed.
Along with this comes the travesty of more and more agricultural lands taken out of food production, covered with products from our avowed enemy, China, and its cohorts.
Currently 86% of Florida’s energy is supplied by US natural gas, oil, coal or nuclear fission. Technology has made all of these clean and reliable to use. Why force 21+ million people to be dependent on foreign-produced solar panels and batteries? Especially when those are produced by our avowed enemy, China.
Col. John Mills, USArmy Col. Ret. and Dave Walsh, former President and CEO of Mitsubishi Power Systems America and Florida resident, have an excellent post on this topic. Col Mills is Former Director of Cybersecurity Policy, Strategy, and International Affairs in the Office of the Secretary of Defense. Mr. Walsh is heading up the Florida effort to raise awareness of the issue, and to interact with Tallahassee and the Florida Public Service Commission – the five members of which exist as gubernatorial appointees.
The tech industry values coal, nuclear, and gas because they provide reliable sources of power.
This is an excellent article, which I highly recommend that you read.
The explosion of AI will demand massive amounts of energy, as plants are being built all over America – in the states which can provide the power needed. Jobs will go to those states. Solar is NOT the answer, and the reasons are clear.
Yet, again, from 2019 – 2025 to date – THE TIME DURING WHICH DE SANTIS HAS BEEN GOVERNOR, the state of Florida has added ONLY SOLAR as new generating capacity.
FURTHERMORE, THE TEN-YEAR SITE PLANS OF FL REGULATED UTILITIES ARE PROJECTING THAT APPROXIMATELY 91% OF NEW CAPACITY ADDITIONS WILL BE SOLAR AND BATTERY STORAGE.
Now, I think you know “why”. UN Agendas.
Florida is in the hands of Globalist leadership, it appears.
Dave Walsh is leading the campaign for awareness. You can find him frequently on Steve Bannon, in The National Interest, as an energy advisor to industry clients and as a national commentator on energy markets and related technology. He speaks around the country on the urgent issues of energy production.
Consumers of energy – homes, businesses, factories, hospitals, schools – need power that is Clean, Abundant, Reliable and Affordable. (CARA). I repeat, a sovereign nation must be able to supply all of its own energy needs for its citizens and its industries. Never forget this.
CARA energy is a prerequisite for a Free society.
If you live in Florida, HERE IS YOUR JOB: ASK TALLAHASSEE TO REJECT THE PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION DOCKET 20250011: This is FP&L’s proposed $9 billion rate hike which enables the spread of the highly expensive and inefficient solar energy. E-Mail every senator and representative. You MUST include an instate address to prove you are a ratepayer in Florida.
Call your representatives. Tell them that you object to more of your money being funnelled to China and away from America! And let them know that erasing “climate change” is one useless move. Ask them what it cost the state to do that…
