The jury in Sean “Diddy” Combs’ sex-trafficking trial reached a verdict on Tuesday afternoon on four of the five charges against the former mogul, but cannot agree to the final racketeering charge, they told the judge.
The jury began its deliberations on Monday after weeks of testimony from 34 witnesses. Combs was arrested in September 2024 and faces charges of racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking, and transportation for the sake of prostitution.
Attorneys on both sides of the case urged the jurors to continue deliberations on the final charge, but jurors told the judge that some of them hold “unpersuadable views,” per NBC News.
The judge ordered both sides to send proposed instructions to his office on how the jury can continue its deliberations in order to avoid a hung jury.
The jurors were later dismissed for the day without the final verdict and is expected to resume deliberations on the final charge on Wednesday.
If convicted on the racketeering charge, the heaviest charge he faces, Combs could be sentenced to life in prison. The minimum sentence for the charge is 15 years in prison.
