Watch: Chief Justice Takes Aim At Dems Causing ‘Threats Of Violence And Murder’ Against Judges

U.S. Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts delivered a stern warning Sunday to politicians who engage in inflammatory rhetoric against judges, emphasizing the dangerous consequences of such language. Speaking at the Judicial Conference of the Fourth Circuit in Charlotte, North Carolina, Roberts expressed concern over the growing hostility toward the judiciary, which has led to violent threats against judges simply for doing their jobs.

“I’ve been compelled over the past few years to make statements about people on one side of the aisle – their views on judges – and on the other side,” Roberts said. “It becomes wrapped up in the political dispute that a judge who’s doing his or her job is part of the problem.”

Roberts did not single out any specific individuals, but his remarks come amid a surge in threats against judges, particularly those involved in high-profile cases. “And the danger, of course, is somebody might pick up on that. And we have had, of course, serious threats of violence and murder of judges just simply for doing their work,” he continued. “So, I think the political people on both sides of the aisle need to keep that in mind.”

While Roberts avoided naming names, the liberal media has been quick to weaponize his words against conservatives, particularly President Donald Trump, who has been vocal in criticizing judicial decisions he disagrees with. However, what the left conveniently ignores is the far more egregious and direct threats from Democratic leaders.

For instance, in 2020, Democratic Senator Chuck Schumer infamously threatened Supreme Court Justices Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh, saying they would “pay the price” for their rulings. Roberts himself condemned Schumer’s remarks at the time, calling them “dangerous” and “inappropriate.” Schumer later walked back his comments, but the damage was done—proof that the left’s rhetoric is often far more incendiary than anything coming from conservatives.

Meanwhile, the media turns a blind eye to the real threats against conservative judges. In 2022, a California man, Nicholas Roske, was arrested outside Justice Kavanaugh’s home with a gun, hammer, knife, and zip ties, admitting he wanted to kill the justice over the potential overturning of Roe v. Wade. This was a direct result of the left’s relentless demonization of the Court.

Yet, instead of holding their own accountable, liberal outlets focus on Trump’s critiques of judges, such as his March 18 Truth Social post calling Judge James E. Boasberg a “Radical Left Lunatic of a Judge” and a “troublemaker and agitator” for blocking deportation flights. While Trump’s language is strong, it pales in comparison to the left’s outright calls for violence.

Roberts’ warning is a reminder that judicial independence must be protected—but the real threat comes from the left’s escalating rhetoric and the media’s refusal to hold them accountable. President Trump, meanwhile, has consistently supported law and order, pushing for stronger protections for judges and calling out judicial overreach without inciting violence.
