Americans for Tax Reform urges all Senators to vote in support of the substitute amendment to H.R. 1, the One Big Beautiful Bill Act.
The Senate tax package delivers on President Trump’s campaign pledge to make the 2017 tax cuts permanent, providing across the board, pro-growth tax relief for American households and businesses.
A list of tax cuts in the Senate’s bill can be found here.
Details on how the Senate’s legislation builds upon the House-passed bill by further increasing growth and take-home pay can be found here.
Grover Norquist, President of Americans for Tax Reform, released the following statement in support of the Senate’s reconciliation package:
“The Senate’s reconciliation package delivers on President Trump’s campaign promise of PERMANENT, across-the-board tax cuts for ALL income groups.
Envy is a sin, not a political program. Passing this bill shows the American people that the Republican Party rejects the politics of envy and class warfare peddled by the Left. The GOP is the party of lower taxes, less government and greater economic opportunity for ALL Americans.
Senate Republicans are protecting taxpayers from the largest tax increase in American history by extending the 2017 Trump tax cuts while building upon their success with additional pro-growth tax relief. This bill raises take-home pay for workers, creates jobs, boosts manufacturing and grows the American economy.
This bill ensures that America will outcompete China and Europe with lower taxation and less regulation. Not by the lower wagers and less competition offered by the Biden Administration.
The Senate rightly fought to make the Trump tax cuts permanent in this bill, providing vital economic certainty for American households and businesses. With permanent tax cuts, Trump and the congressional GOP are preventing future Democrat spending. Unlike temporary tax cuts, permanent tax cuts cannot be held hostage. They cannot be traded or resold for wasteful pork barrel spending.
The Senate’s legislation delivers historic improvements to buttress our Medicaid system – a program designed to help pregnant women, the disabled, the elderly, and children – by implementing common sense work requirements for able-bodied adults. These improvements prioritize care for the most vulnerable Medicaid recipients, save the program from financial ruin, and are overwhelmingly supported by voters.
The bill delivers a final blow to the disastrous legacy of the Biden Administration by repealing the disastrous Green New Deal subsides that drove inflation and forced taxpayers to fund corporate welfare for Democrat special interests. Instead of subsidizing industries that cannot stand on their own in the marketplace, this bill unleashes American energy production to lower prices for American households and strengthen American energy independence.
The time to act is now. American families and businesses cannot afford any further delay of the Trump agenda.
Americans for Tax Reform urges all Senators to vote in support of this package.“
Stop the Tax Hike
Taxpayers face the largest tax increase in American history if Congress fails to extend the 2017 Trump tax cuts. Failure from Congress to act would mean taxpayers fall back into living under Obama’s tax rates:
- The standard deduction, currently claimed by 90 percent of tax filers, would be cut in half.
- Forty million families would see their current Child Tax Credit cut in half.
- A family of four earning $80,610 on average would see a $1,695 tax hike.
- More than 26 million small business owners would be hit with a 43.4 percent tax rate.
Americans for Tax Reform encourages all members of Congress to prevent these automatic tax increases from hitting American families and businesses at the end of this year.
