Our beloved country sits on vast reserves of oil, gas, and coal that have powered our economy for generations. Other countries can only dream of having such natural resources.

But there is one foreign power not-so-secretly working to shut down American energy production. This country wants America dependent on them instead.
This week, Texas Senator Ted Cruz dropped a bombshell during a Senate Judiciary hearing. Cruz revealed evidence that China is running a “systematic campaign against American energy” through a network of climate groups, lawyers, and even judges.
From The Daily Wire:
‘We are witnessing right now a systematic campaign against American energy,’ Cruz said at the hearing. ‘There is a coordinated assault by the radical Left, backed and paid for by the Chinese Communist Party, to seize control of our courts, to weaponize litigation against US energy producers all in order to undermine American energy dominance.’
Cruz’s investigation found that Energy Foundation China, a group with direct ties to the Chinese Communist Party, has been funneling money to American climate activist groups. These groups then flood our courts with lawsuits against oil and gas companies.
The Chinese plan works in three steps:
– First, Chinese money flows to American climate groups;
– Second, these groups file mountains of lawsuits to block pipelines, ban gas cars, and bankrupt energy companies; and
– Third, they train judges to rule in their favor.
According to a report cited by Cruz, Energy Foundation China has paid out nearly $1.02 billion in grants to hundreds of climate reform organizations from 2001 to 2020. This is not pocket change—it is a massive investment in changing America’s energy landscape.
Many of the foundation’s leaders previously held senior positions in the Chinese government. As Scott Walter, president of the Capital Research Center, testified:
I’m skeptical that former Chinese communist officials are interested in doing anything that would harm their country.
Kansas Attorney General Kris Kobach also testified about how these climate lawsuits are affecting the entire country. He explained:
[S]ome blue states are passing laws that effectively
force their green energy rules on the whole nation.
The most shocking part? While China pushes green energy in America, they are doing the opposite at home.
Cruz pointed out:
If this is truly about reducing emissions, why isn’t China investing that money in reducing its own pollution? China is the number one polluter on planet Earth.
The answer is simple:
China wants America dependent on them for energy.
While they build coal plants at home, they want us shutting down our own energy production.
As Cruz put it:
While China drills and digs, we sue and shut down.
Leftists on the committee suicidally dismissed these concerns. Senator Sheldon Whitehouse called Cruz’s claims a “conspiracy” and argued that the oil industry’s “dark money” schemes were more concerning.
But the evidence speaks for itself. China has a clear plan to weaken American energy independence while strengthening their own position. And they are using climate activism as their cover.
Americans must stay alert
to these foreign influence campaigns.
Our energy independence is not just about lower gas prices—it is about national security and freedom from foreign control.
As Cruz warned:
While China prepares for energy dominance, the American Left prepares to attack our own domestic capability.
