An Amber Alert is currently active for Allen Fischer, 13, and Rachelle Fischer, 15, who disappeared from their Monteview, Idaho home on June 22, with authorities suspecting they may have returned to the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (FLDS) community in Utah. The teens’ mother, Elizabeth Roundy, who left the FLDS church in 2020, believes her children have been indoctrinated against her and were possibly taken by church members seeking to fulfill alarming prophecies. Could the teens’ missing older sister have facilitated her siblings’ disappearance?
Missing Teens Connected to FLDS Community
Allen Larand Fischer, 13, and Rachelle “Shelly” Leray Fischer, 15, disappeared from their Monteview, Idaho home between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. on June 22. The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office issued an Amber Alert amid growing concerns about their safety, particularly given their connections to the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (FLDS).
Both teens were last seen wearing traditional FLDS attire, and authorities believe they may be traveling in a gray Honda sedan. Though detectives have been unable to find concrete evidence regarding any vehicle the children may have left in, they are pursuing multiple leads in the ongoing investigation.

Mother’s Fears and FLDS Prophecies
Elizabeth Roundy, who left the FLDS church in 2020 and was awarded custody of her children, believes her children have been brainwashed against her. “They consider me to be an apostate now,” Roundy told reporters, expressing deep concern about her children’s safety within the group.
Non-profit organization Holding Out HELP has reported that FLDS leaders are instructing followers to retrieve children for an impending “end of times.” Tonia Tewel from the organization stated, “There are some revelations out that are really concerning from the FLDS church, that talk about becoming translated beings, but they must die first.”

Connection to Missing Older Sister
Adding another layer to the case, the children’s 18-year-old sister, Elintra Dee Fischer, has been missing since January 1, 2023. Authorities suspect Elintra may be involved in taking her siblings back to Trenton, Utah, where the family previously lived while part of the FLDS community.
The FLDS church has faced numerous legal issues over the years, including charges of arranging child marriages, sexual assault, and human trafficking. Warren Jeffs, the imprisoned FLDS leader, is reportedly making alarming claims about FLDS children needing to die to be resurrected as “pure beings,” according to information gathered by investigators.
The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office believes the children may have left willingly due to religious beliefs, but is actively seeking public assistance. Anyone with information about Allen and Rachelle Fischer or their sister Elintra is urged to contact the Jefferson County dispatch center at 208-745-9210 option 7.
