So Ironheart is finally here — Marvel’s newest series spun off from Iron Man — and Disney’s hyping it like crazy. But is it actually worth watching? Today’s show breaks it down.
“It’s every Progressive woke trope that could fit in there,” Crowder said.

Set after the events of “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever,” Marvel Television’s “Ironheart” pits technology against magic when Riri Williams (Dominique Thorne)—a young, genius inventor determined to make her mark on the world—returns to her hometown of Chicago. Her unique take on building iron suits is brilliant, but in pursuit of her ambitions, she finds herself wrapped up with the mysterious yet charming Parker Robbins aka “The Hood” (Anthony Ramos). The series also stars Lyric Ross, Alden Ehrenreich, Regan Aliyah, Manny Montana, Matthew Elam and Anji White. Chinaka Hodge is head writer; episodes are directed by Sam Bailey and Angela Barnes. Executive producers include Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Brad Winderbaum, Zoie Nagelhout, Chinaka Hodge, Ryan Coogler, Sev Ohanian and Zinzi Coogler.
Josh points out that the very few white characters in the show are portrayed negatively. For example, there’s a white dean at MIT who kicks Riri out. Then there’s a suburban white guy with a bunch of “Live Laugh Love” signs all over his house. And then he called out the neighbor for being a total “Karen” type.
According to Josh, the dialogue also feels like it was written by someone trying to make memes and turns out pretty cringeworthy. For example, in the comics, the Blood Brothers are aliens, but here they’ve been turned into human characters. And there is a trans Mexican guy with a mullet, and there is also a black dude with green makeup and long nails.
In other words, the show is full of forced identity politics, gender and race swaps, and over-the-top messaging aimed at making white, straight men feel guilty. Additionally, Riri is painted as a genius but constantly resorts to stealing to get what she wants, even when it’s not necessary.
“This is because angry feminists and trans, lesbian, queer intersectionists can’t keep themselves from sticking their nose where it doesn’t belong, and they want you to feel guilty for being a straight white male,” Crowder said.
According to one leftist response to reviews, “‘Ironheart’ Review Bombing Proves Some Comic Book Fans Still Can’t Handle Women of Color in the Spotlight.”
“The left cannot handle criticism, and they cannot enter on the battleground of ideas,” Crowder said.
