The beloved Brett Cooper, a 23-year-old conservative podcaster and social media personality, has joined Fox News as a contributor.
The network announced the signing on Wednesday as part of its strategic push to capture younger audiences.
Fox News Media highlighted Cooper’s appeal in their announcement.
The network praised her “grounded perspective, sharp wit, and distinctive takes” as primary factors in bringing her aboard.
Cooper made her Fox News debut on The Will Cain Show at 4 pm EST on Wednesday.
The appearance marked her first official contribution to the network’s programming lineup.
The signing comes as traditional cable news networks face significant challenges reaching Gen-Z audiences.
A Morning Consult poll revealed that only 27 to 30 percent of Gen-Z viewers watch broadcast or cable news sources weekly.
Social media platforms dominate news consumption among younger Americans.
The same poll found that 63 percent of individuals obtain their news from social media networks, where Cooper built her following.
Cooper previously served as a host at the Daily Wire before making the move to Fox News.
Fox News has made limited but strategic hires of Gen-Z talent.
Riley Gaines, a former collegiate swimmer known for her activism regarding women’s sports, also joined the network recently.
The Tennessee native began her journey to prominence at an early age.
Cooper was born and raised in Chattanooga before moving to Los Angeles at age 10 to pursue entertainment industry opportunities.
Cooper took an unusual step in her teenage years by filing for emancipation at age 15.
This legal action allowed her greater independence as she navigated her career path.
Her educational background includes significant academic achievements.
Cooper earned a degree in English literature from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).
She also pursued business studies at UC Berkeley’s prestigious Haas School of Business, where she completed a minor.
This combination of liberal arts and business education shaped her analytical approach to commentary.
The Post Millennial outlined that Cooper’s personal life has evolved alongside her professional success.
She married Alex Tombul in April 2024, marking a new chapter in her personal journey.
The couple recently announced they are expecting their first child.
Cooper shared the pregnancy news with her followers, adding another dimension to her public persona.
Cooper and her husband currently reside on a farm outside Nashville, Tennessee.
Resist the Mainstream reported back in March that Cooper stunned X after Daily Wire co-founder at the time Jeremy Boreing announced his resignation in a staff memo.
Cooper, who was suspectedly ousted from the organization over an alleged feud between Boreing and herself, posted a meme of a smirking Jimmy Fallon in response.
“Oh how the cookie crumbles,” one commentator said in response to Cooper’s post.
Another, reacting to the news, wrote, “I still stand by the best thing for Daily Wire is to get rid of Jeremy Boring [sic].”
Candace Owens, who was also reportedly fired from Daily Wire over a feud with Boreing, posted, “Exactly one year ago, to the day, I found out I was being let go from the Daily Wire.”
“Life comes as you fast,” she said, adding, “There is much to be said.”
