Radio host Charlamagne Tha God said on Tuesday that he has no issue with President Donald Trump deporting American citizens to other countries if they are vicious criminals.
The Supreme Court on Monday enabled the Trump administration to deport illegal migrants more swiftly to countries not specified in their removal orders by temporarily blocking a lower court order that mandated giving migrants notice and allowing them to raise concerns regarding possible threats before sending them to a “third country.” On “The Breakfast Club,” journalist Morgyn Wood inaccurately said that the Supreme Court was enabling the Trump administration to deport “convicted criminals” rather than illegal migrants specifically, but Charlamagne actually said that he was okay with deporting Americans for certain crimes.

“The Supreme Court is allowing the Trump administration to deport convicted criminals to so-called third countries, even if they have no connection to the nation. Convicted criminals,” Wood said. “I did not say anything about migrants, immigrants — just convicted criminals. So places like South Sudan and Venezuela are included on this list, and this puts a hold on a federal judge’s ruling that said that those being deported should have a chance to bring claims that they would be at risk for persecution or death if sent to another country.”
Charlamagne asked Wood to clarify if she was saying Americans born in the United States could now face deportation for crimes. She claimed that was indeed the case and noted Trump has previously said he wanted to deport “homegrowns.”
Charlamagne then said that “depending on the crime,” he does not “care” where American criminals are sent.
“If you do a crime that’s so heinous — let’s say you go and you kill seven eight-year-olds,” he said, adding, “I could care less where they send you.”
“If you walk into a school and you kill eight seven-year-olds, eight-year-olds, I’ma be honest with you — I don’t care where they send you,” he said. “I hope that would be a deterrent. Hey, they gon’ send your stupid ass to El Salvador now. You know what I’m saying?”
Co-host DJ Envy agreed, but raised a concern about people being sent to countries for a crime they did not actually commit.
“Well, that’s different. But you can say that with a bunch of things, though,” Charlamagne replied. “You can say that with the death penalty, you can say that with a bunch of different things.”
Envy said if a crime was undoubtedly proven, then he was okay with deporting Americans, too.
Trump seemed to tell El Salvadoran President Nayib Bukele in April that he planned to deport American criminals to El Salvadoran prisons, NPR reported.
“The homegrowns are next, the homegrowns,” Trump said. “You’ve got to build about five more places.”
Trump also told Fox News’ Rachel Campos-Duffy in April that he wanted to send certain American criminals to El Salvadoran prisons.
“The ones that grew up and something went wrong, and they hit people over the head with a baseball bat, and push people into subways just before the train gets there, like you see happening sometimes,” Trump said. “We are looking into it, and we want to do it. I would love to do that.”
