Congress loves nothing more than a lineup of 70 and 80-year-olds with decades of back pain and walkers who are, in their eyes, perfect for prime leadership roles. And Democrats didn’t even mind having a senile old white guy leading the country from the Oval Office. But toss in a tech-savvy 22-year- old and suddenly they start crying over who gave the “intern” admin access.
According to media reports, Trump has selected a 22-year-old to lead the Center for Prevention Programs and Partnerships (CP3) at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
What does the CP3 actually do? It helps stop things like targeted attacks and terrorism before they happen. How? By giving money and training to local police, schools, nonprofits, and community groups so they know what warning signs to look for and how to respond.
But to Mediaite and their leftist pals, hiring someone under 60 for this role (or anything else in government) is apparently a national crisis. Heaven forbid we have someone in government who actually knows how to unmute themselves on Zoom, send an email without a gender manifesto, Airdrop a file without asking for help – or, gasp, troubleshoot a Wi-Fi issue without calling IT. Oh, the horror!
The young man’s real name is Thomas Fugate and he’s got the Dems in a tizzy. They are complaining that his LinkedIn page indicated that he spent several months performing lawn care work around his neighborhood and also worked part time as a clerk at a supermarket.
Still, I would take someone with Fugate’s lawn and grocery experience over most of the septuagenarians and octogenarians anytime. Honestly, just take a look at the 535 voting members of Congress. I’d rather choose my representatives by flipping through a phone book and pointing at random to get new representation than deal with what we have now. Odds are that we’d end up with fewer bozos and more common sense – and they’d most likely be younger than the current clowns we have now who are eroding our rights and our bank accounts.
As our nation girds for possible Iranian terrorist attacks, this is the person Trump put in charge of terrorism prevention.
22 years old. Recent work experience: landscaping/grocery clerk.
Never worked a day in counter-terrorism. But he’s a BIG Trump fan. So he got the job. pic.twitter.com/FIlMWFoudZ

Turns out, lawn care might be the perfect training ground for national security. If you can spot a crabgrass invasion before it spreads, identifying sleeper cells is just the next logical step. Ripping out deep-rooted threats in the yard? Now try doing it for the country. And if you’ve ever edged a flower bed with military precision, congratulations – you’re halfway to coordinating drone strikes.
On a serious note, this young lad graduated with a degree in Politics and Law from the University of Texas at San Antonio in 2024. Fugate’s prior experience includes internships at the Heritage Foundation, work as a special assistant in a DHS immigration office, and a role on Donald Trump’s 2024 presidential campaign. And although the Dems looked into his lawn “career” and grocery experience BEFORE all that, they have not yet investigated his toddler years or his odd jobs while in middle school. Tsk, tsk, Democrats. Get on the ball!
So let me get this straight: we’ve got a Congress full of folks who think TikTok is some kind of breath mint, half the Senate who needs a staffer just to open their email and post on their social media accounts, and the last guy in the Oval Office kept trying to shake hands with ghosts – but we’re supposed to believe that a 22-year-old is the real danger? Why? Because he actually knows how to use a spreadsheet? Because he can change a toner cartridge all by himself?!
Give me a break. If anything, Thomas Fugate’s biggest red flag is that he might actually do the job he’s supposed to do. And that, to the geriatric elitist crowd in Washington, is the scariest thing of all.
