President Donald Trump’s ambitious Middle East ceasefire reportedly collapsed dramatically within hours of taking effect, as Israel accused Iran of launching ballistic missiles in direct violation of the newly brokered truce.
Israeli officials announced preparations for forceful retaliation with intense strikes against Iranian targets after detecting what they characterized as serious ceasefire violations.

Defense Minister Israel Katz responded decisively, stating he had instructed the IDF to “respond forcefully” to Iran’s violation of the ceasefire with intense strikes against regime targets in the heart of Tehran.
Iranian officials denied launching the missiles and maintained they had not violated the ceasefire agreement, according to state media reports.
The missile strike is said to have resulted in casualties, with an Iranian projectile hitting a residential building in Beersheba.
The attack reportedly killed four civilians and injured approximately twelve others, adding to the human cost of the conflict.

Iran’s foreign minister characterized the attack on the Qatar-based American airbase as self-defense following strikes on nuclear installations.
He emphasized the operation should not be interpreted as action against Qatar’s government.
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian contacted Qatar’s leadership to express regret over the airbase attack.
The conversation was confirmed by Qatar’s prime minister during a press conference.
Qatar’s prime minister condemned the Iranian attack on American forces stationed in his country as an “unacceptable act.”
He confirmed receiving assurances that the strike was not directed against Qatari interests.
Iran accused Israel of conducting strikes after the ceasefire was supposed to begin.
Iranian military sources reported Israeli attacks occurred in three phases until 9am local time on Tuesday.
