While the majority of people reading this have had a very chill Pride month thus far, considering America made their voices heard in November, the same cannot be said for the Oregon House of Representatives.
On Wednesday, a drag performance took place on the floor of the Oregon House of Representatives after a resolution was passed to recognize and honor “Black Drag” history.
It’s unclear what they mean by history, but it may or may not have something to do with “Herstory.”
Question: When state lawmakers took an oath to protect Americans’ freedoms, how does this fit in? And do people really enjoy this? They’re not even dancing impressively, as toddlers could probably put on a better performance.
Are they not just jumping up and down? Like, how is that impressive?
Why do some on the left think that allowing misogynistic men to dress in exaggerated ways somehow undermines the fight conservatives face?
And is this what the left means when they claim to be the compassionate ones? Because now we’re all forced to endure this, and I wouldn’t call that anything remotely close to compassion.
According to the New York Post:
The bizarre fiasco erupted on the chamber floor in honor of a Democratic resolution recognizing “the artistry of black drag performers” in the Beaver State, Rep. Travis E. Nelson told The Post.
What does “the artistry of Black drag performers” even mean, and why can’t we also recognize “the artistry of white drag performers” with a similar resolution? Since when are virtue-signaling votes allowed that prioritize one skin color over another? While I find this ridiculous regardless of anyone’s race, why do we have to bring racism into the mix?
That is something the left will never be able to answer, but it won’t stop them from making a fool of themselves with deranged drag performances that somehow prove a thing or two.
Video of the flamboyant display captured the two queens — one sporting a bright yellow shimmery jumpsuit, with the other rocking a rainbow-hued one-piece with a blue wig — lip-synching to Aretha Franklin’s “A Deeper Love” while dancing wildly and jumping up and down around the chamber for nearly five minutes.
“I’m not sure the Founding Fathers envisioned taxpayer-funded legislative chambers being turned into platforms for political theater,” Rep. Dwayne Yunker posted on X, with footage of the cringeworthy act.
I tend to agree with that, as I doubt the Founding Fathers envisioned a country where gay men dress as women to promote “the artistry of Black drag performers.” Nonetheless, we now live in a time where insignificance is celebrated, where people who supposedly have no control over their preferences are glorified, and where insanity is treated as something that must be affirmed. This is precisely why none of this is surprising—yet it remains pathetic nonetheless.
That being said, I think it’s time to go wash my eyes out with bleach.
