Only the Democrats could finally get rid of David Hogg just to replace him with someone more painfully on brand for the party.
Hogg’s short-lived stint as Democratic National Committee vice chair was plagued with controversy as he spoke out against his party’s messaging and pushed for the reins to be turned over to young people. Now that he’s been removed, his replacement is likely to spark even more mockery.

Shasti Conrad, the Washington State Democratic Party Chair, was voted into the second open vice chair position on Friday.
“I’m honored to serve as Vice Chair of the Democratic National Committee and am deeply grateful to the members who placed their trust in me,” Conrad wrote in her statement. “This was the longest election in DNC history, and every vote cast reflected our shared beleif in building a stronger, more inclusive Democratic Party.”
“As a millennial, I’m committed to creating more opportunities for young people to get involved and become the leaders of today – not just tomorrow. And as an AAPI leader, I’m proud to represent America’s fastest-growing voting bloc and ensure we have a seat at every table where decisions are made,” she continued. “I’m ready to work side by side with Chair Martin and Democrats across the country to win elections and live up to the values we all share.”
Not all social media users shared her enthusiasm:
Trading one Hogg for another isn’t an improvement.
