Former President Bill Clinton has addressed concerns over President Joe Biden’s judgment and mental acuity.
During an appearance on The View, Clinton fought back against the wave of reports suggesting a decline in Biden’s cognitive ability during the 2024 campaign and the latter part of his presidency.

“Well, I think you have to pay attention to them,” the ex-prez stated firmly when probed about the reports. “But all I can say is whenever I was around him, his mind was clear, his judgment was good, and he was on top of his brief.”
Clinton didn’t hold back as he scrutinized decisions by the White House ahead of the highly anticipated June 2024 showdown between Biden and Donald Trump, especially questioning Biden’s overseas jaunts leading up to their crucial debate.
“He was 80 years old. What the heck is he doing that for?” he exclaimed. “Why was that allowed to happen?”
“There’s a lot of questions. I don’t know,” Clinton admitted. “All I know is I think we should think less about that, more about the future.”
Joe Biden’s Cognitive Ability

A spokesperson for Biden recently fired back at claims presented in “Original Sin,” a book alleging a White House cover-up regarding Biden’s purported decline.
“There is nothing in this book that shows Joe Biden failed to do his job, as the authors have alleged, nor did they prove their allegation that there was a cover-up or conspiracy,” they declared.
Clinton on Trump

Clinton didn’t shy away from criticizing Trump as well, remarking on his efforts to “implement that White House 2025 report that he said he never read” — a jab at Project 2025, a policy handbook handed out by the Heritage Foundation that Trump denounced while on the campaign trail.
“He said, ‘Don’t read that, don’t pay attention to it,’ but he always does that,” Clinton noted. “People pretty much knew what they were getting and get, you know, new and unprecedented actions against immigrants, legal and otherwise, and a few modest tax cut[s], but I think there’s been more of what they thought they’d get on the tariffs, the taxes and the immigrants and other things.”
Clinton also voiced his apprehensions about some of Trump’s policies, stating that many have been held up by federal courts, including contentious decisions on immigration and government cuts.
He warned the audience that “the courts won’t hold until we have the midterm elections.”
Moving Forward

Clinton stated he feels the Supreme Court has made some commendable decisions and touched on a particular case where it ruled the Trump administration’s erroneous removal of migrant Kilmar Abrego Garcia to El Salvador was illegal.
“So I’m worried about that, and you should be worried about that, whatever your politics. … I have a sneaking suspicion if our [Democratic] Party wins the White House in the next election, there’ll be a hallelujah moment, and the Supreme Court will rediscover the Constitution,” Clinton mused.
