I have some big news to share with you.
CatholicVote has a new President and CEO!
While my nomination to serve as the U.S. Ambassador to the Holy See is still pending with the United States Senate, CatholicVote isn’t waiting to embark on its next chapter under the leadership of its new president – Kelsey Reinhardt.
You can watch this video to learn more about Mrs. Reinhardt >>>
Just over 20 years ago, I was blessed to help launch a new non-profit venture that would become CatholicVote. Today, CV gives millions of Catholics a voice in American public life.
With your help, we have helped elect presidents, senators, and members of Congress. Our work has helped confirm Supreme Court justices, pass critical legislation, secure landmark legal victories, hold government officials accountable, and defend our Church and our Faith against a culture that seeks to diminish the role of religion and morality.
CatholicVote today communicates via our LOOP newsletter along with our digital audience with nearly 1 million Catholics – every day.
And they are just getting started.
So what’s next?
Selfishly, I hope what’s next is my departure to the Eternal City!
In the meantime, I will continue to serve as Senior Advisor to CV to assist where appropriate.
I know Kelsey has big plans for CV and is already seeking input from many of you. Rest assured, she shares my competitive spirit. She played basketball for Notre Dame before joining the Nashville Dominicans, taking provisional vows before discerning that God was calling her to serve Him in a different way.
And that role is now to lead CatholicVote.
Kelsey is a devoted Catholic, fully committed to the Magisterium of the Church. She is also a patriot and a proud American from Wyoming. She is fully equipped to take CV into the future.
As excited as I am at the prospect of serving my country at the Vatican, it’s not easy to leave a place that has given me so much. Your prayers and support over the last 20 years have meant more than you know.
Thank you for your generosity, friendship, and love.
I hope you will embrace Kelsey the way you did me.
CatholicVote was launched in response to the call of the late Pope John Paul II for a New Evangelization. His words still resonate with all CV seeks to accomplish:
“I plead with you — never, ever give up on hope; never doubt, never tire, and never become discouraged.
“Be not afraid.”
