President Donald Trump has approved plans to attack Iran following a meeting in the Situation Room on Tuesday, but has yet to make the final decision on whether to use them, according to reports.
Knewz.com has learned that the President is waiting to see if Iran decides to approach the negotiating table and abandon its nuclear program.

So far, Tehran has maintained that it has the right to peaceful nuclear energy. Still, the rapid enrichment of the Islamic Republic’s uranium stockpile has left the world concerned that Iran has more than just renewable energy on its mind.
President Trump has time and again reiterated that Iran cannot be allowed to obtain nuclear power.
According to people familiar with the deliberations inside the Situation Room, President Trump hopes that joining Israel in its ongoing strikes on Iran will force the Islamic Republic to give up on its nuclear program finally.

Regarding the plans to attack Iran, Trump said in a statement to reporters following his meeting on Wednesday, “I have ideas on what to do but I haven’t made a final—I like to make the final decision one second before it’s due.”
As Israel and Iran bombard each other with aerial strikes, President Trump has kept the door open to diplomacy regarding Iran, saying that he will make a final decision in the matter in the next two weeks, according to reports.
A statement from Trump, read out by White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, said:
“Based on the fact that there’s a substantial chance of negotiations that may or may not take place with Iran in the near future, I will make my decision whether or not to go within the next two weeks.”

Reports have mentioned that the President is weighing whether to attack the well-defended Fordow uranium enrichment facility in Iran, which is buried under a mountain and widely considered to be out of reach, using “bunker-buster” bombs.
The 30,000-pound “bunker buster” bomb, officially known as the GBU-57A/B Massive Ordnance Penetrator (MOP), is designed for “reaching and destroying our adversaries’ weapons of mass destruction located in well-protected facilities,” according to the U.S. Air Force.
It is worth noting that reports of Trump’s approval of the plans to attack Iran were first published by The Wall Street Journal.
However, shortly after the publication of the report, Trump posted on his Truth Social platform, saying: “The Wall Street Journal has No Idea what my thoughts are concerning Iran!”
Speculation regarding the United States’ response to the Israel-Iran conflict mounted as Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said in his speech that “any US military intervention” would be costly and added, “The Iranian nation will not surrender.”
It has been reported that Iran’s mission to the United Nations also mocked and rebuked Trump, calling him a “has-been warmonger clinging to relevance” and adding that no Iranian official would ever “grovel at the gates of the White House.”
“Iran does NOT negotiate under duress, shall NOT accept peace under duress, and certainly NOT with a has-been warmonger clinging to relevance,” the statement read.

On the other hand, Russia had previously offered a “peaceful” solution to de-escalate the rising tensions in the Middle East – an offer that, according to Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov, still stands – i.e., by removing the highly enriched uranium from Iran and converting it into civilian reactor fuel.
“This proposal remains on the table, it remains relevant. But, of course, with the outbreak of hostilities, the situation has become seriously complicated,” Peskov said in a statement on Monday.
“Russia will continue to promote a de-escalation between Iran and Israel,” read a statement issued by the Kremlin following Russian President Vladimir Putin‘s conversations with the Iranian President and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
