A panel discussion titled “Multipolar World in the 21st Century” held during the “Future Forum 2050” conference in Moscow on June 9-10, 2025 exposed Russia’s calculated strategy to destabilize the West under the guise of promoting a so-called multipolar world.
The panel, featuring Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov alongside Western figures like Elon Musk’s father Errol Musk; propagandist politician and commentator George Galloway; a leader of the “American Communist Party” and Tulsi Gabbard fanboy Jackson Hinkle and others, reinforced Russia’s intent to undermine Western unity and advance Russia’s imperial agenda through “multipolarity”.
The moderator was Dimitri Simes, who is currently under federal investigation for allegedly violating U.S. sanctions against Russia.
As noted by Lavrov during the conference, multipolarity builds on the Primakov Doctrine, a cornerstone of Russian foreign policy after the collapse of the Soviet Union. Importantly, Vladimir Putin’s “Brain”, the highly subversive Russian propagandist Aleksandr Dugin has promoted and expanded Primakov’s “multipolarity”, including in his 2020 book The Theory of a Multipolar World .
Multipolarity is defined by geopolitical analyst Trevor Loudon as “a scam used to turn people against the West by fomenting civil war and unrest in Europe and the United States” emboldening Russia and its allies.

‘Russia 2050’: A Blueprint for Imperial Revival
The conference also showcased a report titled “Russia 2050: Vision of the Future,” presented as a blueprint for Russia’s global role. In reality, it is an attempt to justify Russia’s aggressive push to resurrect the Soviet Union and dismantle the sovereign nations that emerged after its collapse. This vision aligns with Loudon’s warning, as it seeks to destabilize the West by amplifying internal divisions and portraying Russia as a defender of sovereignty against a supposed Western hegemon.
Russia’s Actions Betray Its Rhetoric
The conference coincided with Russia’s ongoing bombing of civilians in Ukraine, a stark contradiction to Lavrov’s claims of upholding the UN Charter’s principles of “sovereign equality” and “eliminating war threats.” While Lavrov accused the West of hypocrisy for supporting Ukraine, he ignored Russia’s relentless military aggression, which has killed thousands and displaced millions since the 2022 invasion.

During the conference, Russia unleashed a massive airstrike on Ukraine, striking multiple targets including a maternity ward in Odesa. Despite this, participants continued to condemn Ukraine and praise Russia’s military strategy and foreign policy.
Lavrov’s Multipolarity Vision: A Tool for Division
Lavrov, hailed by Simes as an “architect of a fundamental shift in international relations,” championed “multipolarity” as a response to Western dominance.
He credited the late former leader of Russian Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) and Russian Prime Minister Yevgeny Primakov for formulating the Primakov Doctrine in the 1990s, claiming it was a reaction to “the Western liberal order” that sought to “envelop the entire globe.”
Lavrov boasted that multipolarity is gaining traction. “New centers of economic growth, financial power, and political influence have emerged in Eurasia, the Asia-Pacific, the Middle East, Africa, and Latin America,” he stated, framing this as a rejection of “the West’s neocolonial methods.”
Western Enablers Amplify Russia’s Narrative
Western participants like Errol Musk and George Galloway play into Russia’s narrative by their very presence. Musk, father of Elon Musk, praised Russia as “a beautiful civilization” and criticized Western portrayals of it as “terrifying,” ignoring its documented human rights abuses and military aggression. Larry C. Johnson, a former CIA analyst who has written for the Gateway Pundit, asked Lavrov about recent bridge collapses, framing them as “terrorist attacks” against Russia.

Lavrov responded in a breathtakingly dishonest way, stating:
In Kursk, Ukrainian Nazis targeted no military objects, unlike our forces, which strike Ukrainian military targets…
In fact, Russia has been aggressively bombing civilian areas in Ukraine since the onset of its full-scale invasion on February 24, 2022.

A Greater Eurasian Partnership for Dominance
Lavrov’s remarks further exposed Russia’s strategy to exploit multipolarity for geopolitical gain. He proposed a “Greater Eurasian Partnership” to harmonize regional structures like the Eurasian Economic Union and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, positioning Russia and China as leaders in a new world order. “Russia and China should play a leading, initiative role,” he declared, signaling an intent to consolidate power with allies.
Multipolarity as a Weapon
By enlisting Western voices to amplify its narrative, Russia seeks to foment chaos, and position itself as a global power alongside its allies. The “Russia 2050” report and Lavrov’s vision make clear that this multipolar world is not about cooperation but about dismantling the West to achieve global dominance.
