An illegal alien with a history of violence who allegedly spat on an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent has been arrested and charged with a felony.
Omar Pulido Bastida faces federal charges for spitting on the ICE agent who was in the process of arresting him for illegally returning to the United States. He has been previously deported.
The 41-year-old Mexican national’s rap sheet boasts a past conviction for robbery as well as being arrested on murder and assault charges, the exact type of illegal alien that Democrats have orchestrated mass protests to protect, with violent riots breaking out in Los Angeles, where Pulido Bastida lives.
“Despite the Los Angeles riots, ICE law enforcement officers arrested Omar Pulido-Bastida. This criminal illegal alien has been convicted of robbery and has arrests for murder and assault,” Department of Homeland Security Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin said in a statement to Fox News Digital.
“This is the type of criminal illegal alien that rioters are fighting to protect. How much longer will Governor Newsom and Mayor Karen Bass continue to prioritize these criminal illegal aliens over their own citizens? Secretary Noem has a message to the LA rioters: You will not stop us or slow us down. ICE will continue to enforce the law and arrest criminal illegal aliens,” she added.

“This defendant found out the hard way: When you spit, we hit – with a felony charge,” United States Attorney for the Central District of California Bill Essayli said. “Law enforcement officers risk their lives and safety to uphold the law. To treat them with disrespect, like this defendant did, mocks our great nation, and such behavior will be punished accordingly.”
The incident took place last Tuesday when an ICE deportation officer arrived at Pulido Bastida’s apartment to take him into custody for illegal re-entry. According to an affidavit, the agent knocked on the door and identified himself as a law enforcement officer with a warrant.
“Pulido, looking down on the officer from a second-story balcony, responded by insulting the officer,” the Justice Department said in a press release.
“Several minutes later, the officer saw Pulido open the front door, which had an iron security gate separating the two men. When the officer told Pulido there was an arrest warrant for him, Pulido said, ‘No, get out of here. I know my rights. I’m calling my lawyer’ then spat through the iron security gate onto the officer,” the press release reads.
The officer, who was leaning his head against the gate to be able to see the criminal illegal immigrant, felt the spit on his face. Pulido Bastida then retreated back into the residence, where he was arrested after ICE forced their way inside, finding Pulido Bastida hiding in a second-story storage room.
“OK, you got me,” the illegal alien said as he was arrested.
When Fox News Digital reached out to Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass’s office, the outlet was pointed to a quote from the left-wing Democrat’s press conference last week.
“These aren’t the criminals the administration is allegedly targeting,” the mayor said. “These are mothers and fathers, restaurant workers, seamstresses, home care workers, everyday Angelenos trying to make a living. We’ve heard stories of unmarked federal vans parked near LAUSD school graduations, a U.S. citizen nine months pregnant who was hospitalized after being detained by federal agents, and an apparel business in downtown L.A. raided, where many Korean and Latino workers work long hours to support their families.”
“IF THEY SPIT, WE WILL HIT, and I promise you they will be hit harder than they have ever been hit before,” President Donald J. Trump said in a recent post to Truth Social. “Such disrespect will not be tolerated!”
