June 16 2025 – BRONX, New York: A 27-year-old Navy veteran was shot and killed early Friday morning in the Bronx in what police believe was a deadly road rage incident.
The victim, Xavier Clark, was gunned down around 1:30 a.m. on June 14 near the intersection of Boston Road and Fish Avenue in the Allerton section of the Bronx. Police say Clark, who had recently returned home after serving in the U.S. Navy, was struck once in the chest during a violent altercation with another driver.
Emergency responders transported Clark to Jacobi Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
According to authorities, the incident began as a traffic dispute between Clark and a driver of another vehicle. The confrontation escalated when both men got out of their cars. During the altercation, one of them reportedly pulled a gun and shot Clark before fleeing the scene in a dark-colored sedan.
Clark’s family says they are in shock. He had moved back to New York earlier this year after completing his Navy service, looking forward to starting a new chapter. His cousin, Tyreek Bell, described him as “calm, always smiling,” and said he “didn’t deserve this.”
Loved ones say Clark was focused on building a future and reconnecting with family after years away serving his country.
