Inquiry into Planned Parenthood’s use of federal funds set to launch

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, alongside the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) subcommittee, has initiated an inquiry into Planned Parenthood’s use of federal funds amid allegations of misuse.

The DOGE investigation brings to light significant questions about Planned Parenthood’s management of taxpayer resources and its compliance with federal mandates, as Breitbart reports.

The investigation was initiated on Friday, triggered by claims that the organization was potentially misappropriating federal resources. Concerns have arisen about the possible blending of federal funds designated for essential health services with those for abortions and hormone treatments for underage individuals. These allegations suggest deviations from guidelines enforced by the Hyde Amendment and previous executive orders.

Funding increas sparks concerns

According to available data, Planned Parenthood received $792.2 million in federal funding during the 2023-2024 period. This marks a significant increase of nearly $100 million compared to prior fiscal allocations. Greene further pointed out that Planned Parenthood may not consistently adhere to its parental consent policies. It was alleged that the organization’s official policies vary by state, allowing some clinics to provide hormone treatment to minors with parental consent.
