While thousands of people in Brooklyn Park remain in a shelter-in-place alert, police are issuing a warning for nearby residents to not answer their door if a single, lone police officer knocks Saturday.
Brooklyn Park Police Chief, Mark Bruley, announced in a Saturday morning news conference that a man impersonating a police officer shot and killed DFL Rep. Melissa Hortman and her husband, Mark, overnight in a targeted attack in Brooklyn Park.
DFL Sen. John Hoffman and his wife, Yvette, were also shot “multiple” times at their home in Champlin. The couple is out of surgery and officials said they were “cautiously optimistic” about their recovery.
