A West Virginia man was indicted on Monday for sexually abusing his daughter and fathering three of her children.
Kenneth Cook, 43, was initially charged in April with incest involving his child. Authorities said that the three children born as a result of this non-consensual, incestuous relationship were being neglected, according to WVVA.
Cook is facing 149 criminal counts. Days after Cook’s arrest, the victim reportedly posted on Facebook about the sexual abuse she allegedly suffered at her father’s hands. The woman claimed she reported Cook multiple times since she was nine, but her grandmother convinced Child Protective Services she was lying.
Cook also suggested he would harm her daughter if she told about the abuse, she claimed.
“My youngest was born with health issues and stayed in the hospital the first week of his life but wasn’t aloud to go to the doctors afterward bc he was scared of the truth of what he had done leaking out, I was nursing a sick baby on my own who desperately needed medical attention,” she wrote.
Cook remains jailed on $500,000 bond. He is due back in court on June 24.
