U.S. Sen. Cory Booker set himself up for criticism after sharing a video that seemed to endorse illegal alien labor in the U.S.
The New Jersey Democrat protested President Donald Trump’s immigration crackdown in a post on X, where he decried the mass deportations and “cruel policies against hardworking families.”
“Immigrants are essential to the backbone of our economy. Mass deportations and cruel policies against hardworking families don’t make us safer or stronger—they weaken us,” Booker declared in the post, sharing a video clip of a woman named Viv explaining how the deportations are “bad for the economy.”

The woman shamed viewers who don’t have the humanity to care about the deportation of people in the country illegally, spewing stats and figures that she purported showed how valuable illegal immigrants are to the U.S. economy.
“If watching families being ripped apart does not appeal to your humanity, let me try to appeal to you financially,” Viv said as she traveled in the back of a car.
Acknowledging that the undocumented immigrants make up a “small portion of the overall workforce,” she went on to claim that “they are overrepresented in jobs that you do not want.”
She claimed that at least 42 percent of agricultural workers and 23 percent of construction workers are in the country illegally.
“The short of it all is that the food that you eat and the home that you live in was probably brought to you by someone who is an immigrant,” she added, ignoring the difference between legal and illegal immigrants.
Viv’s lecture continued as she contended that the Trump administration’s mass deportations will result in $1 trillion in tax revenue losses “every single year” and that Americans will have to wait in longer lines at restaurants, see a “shortage” in Uber and Lyft drivers as well as other “delivery order people.”
Add to that the fact, according to Viv, that grocery store items will see increased prices. All this was wrapped up with her horror over people being thrown into unmarked vans by masked officers.
Her speech – and Booker’s apparent endorsement of her argument – were met with heated reactions on social media.
You do understand the difference between legal and illegal immigration don’t you?

you know you’re arguing for slavery right?
— vittorio (@IterIntellectus) June 11, 2025
@gork can you explain to Cory Booker that there will still be immigrants left in the United States after mass deportation, they will all be legal citizens of the United States.

This is incredibly racist and anti-American
Can’t believe this is coming from an official US senator

The same old slave argument. Democrats are devastated that they are losing their slave labor

But who will pick the cotton?
If you’re too stupid to come up with a better labor solution than illegal workers, resign.

Advocating for slavery in 2025 is wild.
