President Donald Trump touted his blueprint for good parenting during an interview on the New York Post’s new podcast, “Pod Force One.”
“I always said the same thing. I said: no drugs, no alcohol, no cigarettes,” Trump told podcast host Miranda Devine. “I also would say don’t get tattoos, but I don’t say it too strongly, because a lot of people have gotten tattoos, and that’s what they choose to do.”

Describing all of his five children as having been “born smart,” Trump continued by zeroing in on his youngest son, Barron.
“Barron is great,” he said. “He is very tall and good.”
And it appears he has a good heart. Trump explained, for example, how Barron chose to study at New York University to be close to his late grandmother (on his mother’s side).
“He just wanted to be there,” the president said. “He wanted to be there because his grandmother was gonna stay and wait for him in an apartment near the school. And she passed away.”
First Lady Melania Trump’s mother, Amalija Knavs, died in January of last year.
“She was fantastic. Melania’s mother was a fantastic woman,” the president said of her. “And Melania is a fantastic mother, by the way. She loves Barron. He’s very tall, and he’s a good-looking guy.”
Before Barron enrolled at NYU, his father warned him “a little bit” about “all the left professors” there.
As previously reported, Barron played a critical role in the 2024 presidential election by encouraging his father to meet with popular podcast hosts like Adin Ross.

During the August 2024 interview, Trump told Ross that Barron was a huge fan.
“My son Barron says hello,” he said. “He’s a great young guy, but he’s a big fan of yours. My son told me about you. He said ‘Dad, he’s really big.’”
Ross is indeed big, commanding an audience of millions of mostly young, male viewers.
Trump added that Barron had convinced him to participate in the interview precisely so he could reach younger folks.
“I love having a young audience … it’s about the American dream,” he said. “Right now, you don’t have the American dream.”

Trump praised his other children as well.
“Eric has done a fantastic job,” he said. “Ivanka, you know Ivanka? Yes. Very well. She’s so great. And Tiffany has done really well. She went to a great law school and did very well. Always a good student.”
According to the Daily Mail, Trump’s elder sons, Eric and Donald Trump Jr., “have been inking deals as the heads of the Trump Organization.”
Ivanka, meanwhile, has stepped back from politics by participating in it a whole lot less than she did during her father’s first term in office.
As for Trump’s eldest son, Trump Jr., the president was asked whether he would ever run for office.
“I don’t know,” the president replied. “I mean, I don’t know. I think all of them probably have a future in politics, frankly. And Don is very good. A good guy. He’s an outdoorsman.”
Trump Jr. has, for his part, greatly downplayed the possibility of his running for office:
Fake News @Reuters should retract this BS. They put a comma where there should have been a period to change the context of what i said.
And FWIW, I’ve always said, while I’ll never 100% rule it out down the line, I have ZERO interest in running for office in 28 or anytime soon. https://t.co/3ZAGqFx0t4

He’s instead been busy with his own podcast, “Triggered with Don Jr.” Secretary of State Marco Rubio appeared on the podcast in April.
