In recent days, Los Angeles has erupted in flames, with rioters openly brandishing Mexican flags as American neighborhoods burn. What began as a response to President Trump’s decisive ICE raids has quickly morphed into something far darker and more dangerous. Let’s cut through the media spin: these aren’t mere “immigration protests.” They’re the opening salvos of a radical anti-American uprising—an American Intifada unfolding before our very eyes.
The Left often dismisses terms like “anti-colonialism” as harmless academic jargon bandied about by campus radicals. But the scenes we’re witnessing in Los Angeles aren’t abstract theories or classroom debates—these are violent realities. “Anti-colonialism,” as the radicals see it, isn’t merely about righting historical wrongs or promoting social justice. It’s about tearing down the foundations of America itself, viewed as an illegitimate “settler-colonial” nation by those who despise her.
Don’t take my word for it. Look at the slogans, the flags, and the violence unfolding in LA’s streets. As conservative writer Daniel McCarthy recently pointed out in The Daily Signal, “Mexico, and indeed all of Latin America, is America’s Palestine, and when illegal immigrants cross the border, when they resist deportation, when they and their allies riot, this is justified resistance to colonialism.” McCarthy nails it: These radicals see themselves as freedom fighters waging war against American sovereignty.
We’ve seen this script play out before, particularly with the Palestinian “intifadas” against Israel—uprisings characterized by riots, Molotov cocktails, stone-throwing, and worse. Today, those tactics find their way onto American soil, adopted and adapted by radical left-wing groups. The shocking reality is that America’s enemies—both foreign and domestic—are now emboldened by our complacency.
Consider the hypocrisy and sheer illogic of this movement. Activists wave Mexican flags while violently opposing deportation. If Mexico is truly their homeland, why the outrage at returning? Because this isn’t about homeland pride—it’s about seizing American territory, undermining American laws, and subverting American culture. Anti-colonial radicals don’t seek coexistence; they seek conquest.
Let’s speak plainly: the riots in Los Angeles are not isolated incidents. They are, as McCarthy accurately describes, “the beginnings of an intifada,” a coordinated uprising against the American way of life. Our border crisis, which President Trump has fought tirelessly to resolve despite relentless obstruction by Biden-era holdovers, isn’t merely about illegal immigration. It’s about whether America has the right to define itself, to enforce its laws, and to defend its citizens from chaos and violence.
We must also acknowledge a troubling double standard. While the political establishment and mainstream media hyperventilate about January 6th—a single day of unrest by a small fringe group—there’s deafening silence or outright sympathy when left-wing radicals torch cities, destroy livelihoods, and openly advocate for revolutionary violence. This double standard is dangerous and unsustainable. If we allow the Left’s violent tactics to become normalized, how long before political violence spirals completely out of control?
To be clear, violence—whether from the Left or Right—is unacceptable. Yet, our nation cannot survive if we continue tolerating riots and chaos from radical leftists while demonizing patriotic Americans who demand secure borders, law and order, and national sovereignty. The American Intifada must be confronted head-on, with unwavering resolve, in our streets, our classrooms, and our culture.
President Trump is taking decisive action—deploying National Guard forces to restore order and protect American lives and property. But law enforcement alone cannot defeat this radical ideology. Parents, educators, and community leaders must step up, reject anti-American indoctrination in schools, and teach our children pride in our country’s history and values.
Now is the moment to reject complacency and reclaim our nation. America is not a colonial oppressor; we are a sovereign republic, proud of our heritage, our culture, and our freedoms. It’s time to draw a line in the sand: we will not surrender our cities, our neighborhoods, or our future to radical mobs. America First means just that—putting the safety, security, and sovereignty of American citizens first, no apologies and no exceptions.
