Everyday seems to bring a new revelation about the failed presidency of Joe Biden. A revelation by a member of his administration or the mainstream media that tells both a lot about Mr. Biden and his family and even more about the complicity of those currently blowing the whistle. In virtually every instance you wonder why they waited four long years, why they denied the obvious and why they sat silent while powers of the Presidency were ceded to a cabal of unelected bureaucrats who were free to pursue their own agendas and reward their friends with massive amounts of federal taxpayer dollars.
If you were Hillary Clinton you might intone, “What difference at this point does it make?” Or Kalamata Harris’ dismissal of all of the mistakes, errors, and pronouncements: “Unburdened by what has gone before.” Which is a cryptic way of saying that none of it was her fault.
But it is important. It is important because of how close we came to losing our democracy. How close we came to watching a group of Democrat elites weaponize every element of the federal government into rewarding their friends, financing their campaigns and punishing those with whom they disagreed. We all need to remember that all of those investigations, all of those accusations, and all of those prosecutions were paid for with government funds – either directly through one or more executive agencies or non-government organizations dependent on federal funds for their solvency.
And while most of them were aimed at President Donald J. Trump, many of his friends and supporters were swept up in the tyranny of Mr. Biden’s administration.
It’s important even without the distraction of Mr. Trump’s claims of voter fraud, fake news and media bias. Because this isn’t about Mr. Trump. It’s about you. It’s about the transition from a democracy to a one party state – not because that party has better programs, manages the business of the government more efficiently or even spreads the largesse of government widely so as to create financial dependency. No. it’s about using the enormous power of the government to restrain opposition to the governing elite. It’s about using the investigative powers of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Central Intelligence Agency, and the other national security agencies to surveill, record and manipulate information on one’s opponents. It’s about unelected bureaucrats secretly assuming the powers of the President.
It’s about a press corp so inculcated with the Democrat elites that there is a co-dependency – much like remoras on a shark. Each exists to protect the other. So incestuous are the relationships between members of the media and members of Congress and Democrat administrations that you cannot swing a cat without knocking over half a dozen of them.
To some degree it is natural that there becomes a common bond between politicians and the media, between politicians and lobbyists and between politicians and dead skunks – the latter being that the stench is shared such that none of them really notice it any more. It is the close proximity, the ignorance of what goes on in the real world, and the endless pretense that what they are doing is actually important.
All of this is the predicate for urging that more – not less – attention be given to the presidency of Joe Biden and his corrupt family. And the reason is that Mr. Biden, never having been the sharpest tool in the box, stumbled his was through corruption and the prostitution of democracy. It is an easily traceable path because of Mr. Biden incompetence and one that should be pursued with vigor because Mr. Biden will have left all of the bread crumbs necessary to make the case. In other words, the subversion of democracy was probably not Mr. Biden’s original thought, but those around him knew that he was easily manipulated.
Tuesday’s edition of the Wall Street Journal seems to agree albeit to a lesser degree that would not endanger the political establishment:
“Now that the press has decided President Biden’s decline in office is news fit to print, the public deserves a better sense of what it was really like in the White House during Mr. Biden’s four-year slide. If they don’t overreach, Republicans can answer the question while reminding voters how irresponsible it was for Democrats to try to keep their man in power until age 86.”
Let’s remember that while the Wall Street Journal is generally considered to be a relatively a conservative member of the mainstream media, it is a part of that mob with allegiances to the political elites and thus opposes any criminal investigation by the Department of Justice. In this they are wrong.
There was/is a cabal of Democrat/Progressive politicians who either support or acquiesce in the use of government to pursue and punish those with whom they disagree to create one-party rule. Absent Mr. Biden’s obvious cognitive decline and the heavy handed denials of that decline by the mainstream media, it is likely that Mr. Biden would have been re-elected and the cabal would have continued its suppression of democracy.
It is easy to suggest that Mr. Biden has already been punished with the loss of the presidency and his declining physical and mental health and we should just let him fade into the sunset. If he were just a crook lining his pockets, I would be more sanguine. However this is more about the attack on democracy led or allowed by Mr. Biden and more importantly the criminals that he allowed – wittingly or unwittingly – to exercise the powers of the presidency and the resources of the federal government to further that attack.
Mr. Biden has been a sleaze ball his whole political life and deserves all that he is getting. But don’t settle for his personal losses. There are dozens who need to be exposed, prosecuted and convicted of a whole list of crimes – including treason for which the death penalty is still available.
The preservation of democracy is worth the arrest and conviction of a handful of condescending politicians.
