According to many people on the left, America should fund the world’s healthcare. Because that is essentially what it means to give illegal aliens Medicaid.
I don’t have to tell you that’s an asinine position, especially when many Americans don’t qualify for this to begin with. Nonetheless, this is why Scott Jennings said what needed to be told when Democratic panelists tried to condone this lack of logic.
LOL. Look, no one’s saying people don’t deserve healthcare, but I’m not about to pretend everyone does—there are some pretty awful people out there. But what she’s basically saying is that if it were up to her, she’d roll out the welcome mat for the whole world and let them flood and break our system. And the fact that she actually thinks that’s compassionate? That’s just ridiculous.
Shouldn’t we focus on making healthcare more affordable for Americans before trying to take on the world’s sick population? This won’t give more Americans access to care—in fact, it’ll just make it even more expensive for everyone.
Don’t you just love how she leans on emotion? She doesn’t have a real argument, so she makes up dramatic scenarios about illegal immigrants dying in hospitals because “they can’t afford it”—like people don’t skip out on hospital bills every day.
Again, why must America take on this burden for the rest of the world?
It’s not like there’s any country in the world that will give Americans free healthcare, so why must we provide that privilege to others who have done nothing to deserve it? That is something she will never be able to explain, as the best she can do is claim “people deserve healthcare.”
There’s a reason why none of them can confidently say “yes” to the question, as they resort to platitudes and words to make their ideology seem better, when in reality, it could not be more unpopular with the American people if they tried.
This is also why one of them claimed to care deeply about Americans, when in reality, his policies say the exact opposite.
According to CMS Administrator Dr. Mehmet Oz, “Medicaid is not, and cannot be, a backdoor pathway to subsidize open borders.”
This is exactly what will happen if they get their way—and it does absolutely nothing to help Americans.
The worst argument they made was that “we are all immigrants,” as if settlers are equal to those who have broken federal immigration laws.
Nonetheless, as Jennings said, none of their arguments are politically popular, and they should really learn that. But they won’t, as they believe their emotional stance puts them on the compassionate side of history, when that could not be further from the truth.
