Epoch Times just carried a story about the First Ministers meetings about identifying new necessary resource projects and fast tracking them.
But in the story the PM is quoted as saying that identifing the projects would take two years. I quote:
“He ( the PM) also said the government would commit to making a decision on projects within two years.”
What does that mean?
How long after identification of projects will it take to actually get a project going. Do all the Environmental studies, Provincial and Indigenous reviews etc begin after two years? How can such studies go on earlier if the project is not known?
How long will that take?
Quebec is only saying they will take a look. No commitment to energy east pipeline.
And here are the conditions the PM laid out:
“The prime minister said that the criteria used for selecting projects to streamline include evaluating whether the project strengthens the country’s “autonomy, resilience, and security;” provides “undeniable benefits” to Canada and helps in growing the economy; has a high chance of being built successfully; is a priority for indigenous leaders; and has a “clean growth potential, such as the use of clean technologies and sustainable practices.”
Did you see that last condition ?
‘—and has a “clean growth potential, such as the use of clean technologies and sustainable practices.”
What does this mean ?Are we to be stuck in the uneconomic, unreliable so called ‘clean technologies’??? Is this Spain’s failed electric policies now also Canada’s?
Are we to have more bureaucracy? There is to be a new Federal Major Project Office.
I wonder how many employees this office will have?
This all looks pretty suspicious.
