Someone should really inform leftists that just because you throw a temper tantrum and act like a toddler, that does not mean people are above the law. And one Massachusetts city council member had to learn that the hard way.
City Councilor Etel Haxhiaj was seen on body cam footage putting her hands on federal officers, shouting at them, all in an attempt to stop them from arresting a woman who very likely broke federal immigration laws. It’s unclear if she truly believed officers would listen to her cries, despite them likely having more than enough evidence to detain the suspect, but her actions speak volumes. Nonetheless, she did herself and the other woman zero favors, and the sooner she realizes that, the better off she will be.
The fact that she thought acting like that would give her whatever it is she demanded is deeply pathetic and embarrassing, but clearly, she has no shame.
According to The Post Millennial:
A Worcester, Massachusetts city council member was caught on bodycam footage during an early May arrest of a Brazilian illegal immigrant by immigration authorities attempting to block the arrest and attacking authorities.
Dem City Councilor Etel Haxhiaj was seen pushing immigration authorities, blocking them with her body, shouting, “You cannot take her,” and saying at one point with her body in between a woman and authorities who explained that she could face arrest for obstruction, “This is my constituent.”
One of the most absurd things she said was that the people she was trying to defend were her “constituents.” Generally speaking, councilmembers take oaths to represent Americans and legal residents, not foreign nationals. Thus, she has proven exactly who she is all in it for, and it certainly is not her “constituents.”

De Oliveira’s teenage daughter was also charged, after she ran to the car her mother had been placed in and kicked it in, all after handing her sister’s child to another person. The juvenile was charged with reckless endangerment of a child, disturbing the peace, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest, and was later released from custody.
Department of Homeland Security assistant secretary Tricia McLaughlin said in a statement, “District Councilor for the City of Worcester [Etel] Haxhiaj pulled a political stunt and incited chaos by trying to obstruct law enforcement. ICE officers and local police regained control of the situation and ICE arrested Ferreira de Oliveira. The previous administration’s open border policies allowed this criminal to illegally enter our country in August of 2022. Thanks to President Trump and Secretary Noem this criminal is off our streets,” per Fox News.
It should also be noted that this woman was arrested for violent crimes post facto. So, not only did she break federal immigration laws to enter, despite the federal government turning a blind eye to that at the time, but she has since been arrested “for assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and assault and battery on a pregnant woman.” And the fact that this is the kind of person the councilmember wishes to protect is deeply concerning, and a slap in the face to law-abiding Americans everywhere.
This illegal alien assaulted a pregnant woman, and the fact that the left still claims she has a right to be here is a scandal in itself. Nonetheless, this country is now a lot safer because of her arrest, and the sooner the left realizes that, the better they will sleep at night. Until then, we shall sit back and wait for the next leftist to go viral for throwing tantrums about things she or he or they does not understand.
