Many media personalities make false predictions, such as claiming the economy will crash, simply because that’s what they’re rooting for. They would rather fear-monger and gaslight the masses than report the truth. This is why Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said what needed to be said when CBS News’ Margaret Brennan tried to corner him about illogical predictions that make no sense.
I don’t recall her having a cow when the Biden Administration created record inflation, do you?
According to the New York Post:
Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent took a victory lap Sunday over recent inflation numbers that show a key benchmark hitting a four-year low, hailing it as vindication against the naysayers who predicted President Trump’s tariffs would cause prices to soar.
Bessent gently dinged CBS’ “Face the Nation” anchor Margaret Brennan for asking him skeptical questions in March about studies by the Peterson Institute and other groups that predicted tariffs would spur inflation.
“Margaret, when we were here in March, you said there was going to be big inflation. There hasn’t been any inflation,” Bessent shot back during an exchange about whether retailers will have less inventory or jack up prices.
“Actually, the inflation numbers are the best in four years. So why don’t we stop trying to say this could happen, and wait and see what does happen,” Bessent added about their exchange in March.
Brennan has some nerve pretending to care, especially when the media turned a blind eye for years while you struggled to make ends meet. Her concern isn’t just disingenuous—it’s driven by the left’s desire to scare Americans into regretting their vote.
Nonetheless, actions speak louder than words, and you can’t just pretend something exists when it doesn’t.
While she’d rather have you believe we’re in the midst of—or headed toward—an economic calamity, nothing could be further from the truth. And although leftists love to twist numbers to mislead, she’s not fooling anyone. And frankly, she’d do herself a favor by staying quiet—but she’s made it clear that she’s more interested in hearing herself talk than offering anything useful.
