Last week Resist the Mainstream reported on conservative retail giant Tractor Supply promoting LGBT.
The company was initially blasted on social media, but has since backtracked on its stance.
Robby Starbuck was one of the first prominent voices to sound the alarm on Tractor Supply, highlighting that the company was going to provide training for employees on LGBT issues and provide funding for pride, drag shows and sex changes.
“It’s time to expose Tractor Supply,” he said in a lengthy X post and video.
Other social media users torched the company over its disturbing new agenda.
Libs of TikTok posted, “It’s no secret that @TractorSupply is one of the most loved brands in conservative America. But did you know that they also promote LBGTQ training, fund pride events, and support s*x change surgeries?”
“Their CEO Hal Lawton established a DEI council and supports a radical gender ideology.”
Tractor Supply, in a stunning reversal, issued a statement Thursday night explaining its change in focus.
“We work hard to live up to our Mission and Values every day and represent the values of the communities and customers we serve,” it read.
“We have heard from customers that we have disappointed them. We have taken this feedback to heart.”
The company then listed off what it will do to “ensure” its “activities and giving tie directly to [its] business,” starting with a vow to no longer submit data to the Human Rights Campaign.
It added that it will, “Refocus [its] Team Member Engagement Groups on mentoring, networking and supporting the business,” and “further focus on rural America priorities.”
Some of these focuses include “ag education, animal welfare, veteran causes and being a good neighbor.”
The company announced it will “stop sponsoring nonbusiness activities like pride festivals and voting campaigns.”
Tractor Supply will also “eliminate DEI roles” plus retire its current DEI goals.
The company’s carbon emission goals will be terminated too so it can focus on “land and water conservation efforts.”
“Your trust and confidence in us are of the utmost importance, and we don’t take that lightly,” the statement read in closing.
Tractor Supply was swiftly praised by conservatives on X following the announced changes. “Thank you for making these changes. A strong first step in a return to corporate sanity!” Starbuck said.
Christopher F. Rufo said, “Well done. Thank you, Tractor Supply. I will be doing more business with you in the future.”
Jeremy Carl posted, “They are doing the right thing and listening to their customers,” to which Starbuck responded, “Agreed. This is a win. It’s a great first step. We want more to do this so let’s reward doing the right thing.”
Leftists, however, flooded the comments with disdain for Tractor Supply over its flip flop.
“Shame on them caving to far right terrorists!” wrote one user in response to Libs of TikTok’s celebration.
Another said, “This is not listening to customers. As a female veteran and a #LBGTQI ally, this is wrong.”
