If you grew up in the 90s or anytime around that era, a movie you surely have seen was “The Sandlot.”
It became a generational classic and remains one of the most iconic baseball movies ever made.
Unfortunately, one of the main characters of that movie, Thomas Guiry, was arrested after allegedly attacking his neighbor.
Sandlot to Jail Cell
According to local reports, Guiry has been charged with third-degree assault and battery as well as malicious injury to personal property.
A neighbor had called the police when Guiry “trespassed” on his neighbor’s property and threw a “heavy object,” later identified as a dumbbell, at his neighbor’s jeep.
The entire incident was caught on camera, so there is no real way for Guiry to get out of this one.
Also caught on video surveillance was Guiry at the front man’s door with a knife in hand.
Guiry reportedly immediately apologized to his neighbor after the incident, telling him, “That sucks, man. I’ll pay you back. I’m sorry, I’m gonna get you back.”
What set the actor off remains to be seen.
This is hardly Guiry’s first run-in with the law, specifically in terms of violent complaints against him.
For instance, in 2013, the actor was arrested for fighting with a police officer in Houston at the Bush Intercontinental Airport.
Guiry hit paydirt right out of the gate when he started his acting career in 1993, with “The Sandlot” among his first credits.
He managed to stay active, unlike some child stars, accumulating 46 acting credits on his resume, ironically, with his last role being “Killing Smallz.”
This has nothing to do with his Sandlot character, however, but instead is a mob movie.
Some of his other notable movies as an adult are “The Unforgivable,” “Roe v. Wade,” “The Revenant,” and “Mystic River.”
