Tractor Supply has been a favorite of many conservatives, but that might soon change after it was revealed that the company has officially gone woke. Instead of looking to cater to its clientele, consisting of farmers, pet owners, and the rural community, the company has decided to focus on pleasing the LGBT community.
The story was first exposed by conservative filmmaker and podcast host Robby Starbuck, who spilled the beans on the Tennesse company’s latest operations as well as its CEO Hal Lawton on social media on June 6. In an X post, Starbuck shared with thousands of his followers what Tractor Supply truly stands for.
According to Starbuck, the company now provides training for employees on LGBT issues, provides funding for pride, drag shows, and sex changes, hosts LGBT events and decorations in the workplace, as well as basing its hiring around DEI instead of qualifications.
Starbuck, who is also from Tennessee, stated that he found “no pleasure” in reporting that the company failed to reflect the conservative values of the state and its clientele.
“We must make our voices heard,” Starbuck said in an X post. “Hal Lawton needs to understand that we don’t want our hard earned money spent on these woke priorities. If he supports this stuff then he should spend some of his $11M salary or tens of millions in stock on it instead of using the money we spend at Tractor Supply.”
While Lawton’s actions show that he proudly supports LGBT, Starbuck called out the CEO for not showing the same pride in letting his mostly conservative-based consumers know about his viewpoints.
“Why are you hiding your sponsorship of pride events on Tractor Supply’s website where you proudly display events/orgs that TSC gives $$ to?” He asked. “Don’t want customers to know that’s where their money’s going?”
Since news broke about Tractor Supply’s wokeness, it has attracted the attention of many, with Starbuck’s post receiving over 2 million views.
Since their agenda has been exposed, many, including Starbuck, have called for conservatives to give Tractor Supply the Bud Light treatment and boycott the company.
Starbuck has offered to interview Lawton to give his predominantly conservative-based consumers answers as to why their money is going towards anti-conservative causes, but the CEO blocked him from social media.
Not the Bee reported that Lawton blocked his social media accounts from public view as well, presumably from the backlash.
The company’s Facebook account has also limited who can comment on certain posts.
Tractor Supply is just one of many companies that has come under fire for pushing left-wing agendas. This year, Target announced that it will limit the number of stores nationwide that will carry LGBT merchandise.
The decision was made after the corporate giant lost over $13 billion last year in just two weeks after many conservatives boycotted due to its LGBT merchandise, particularly items targeting children.
Other companies that have faced backlash over LGBT support are Kohl’s, Disney, The North Face, and YouTuber Ms. Rachel.
