A Pennsylvania couple was charged with endangering the welfare of a child on Tuesday after police said a passerby found an infant alone on a New York beach.
Paul Thorley, 30, and Mary Thorley, 28 from Mount Pocono, allegedly went boating around Lake George for approximately 15 minutes while they left their infant alone on the beach, according to Fox 56 Wolf.
New York State Troopers said that a passerby heard a child crying “for an extended period of time and discovered the child alone on the beach approximately five feet from the shoreline,” 6 New WRGB Albany reports.
Both parents were arrested and transported to the Chestertown State Police for processing. They were issued appearance tickets in Lake George Town Court and released.
It’s unclear if they have entered pleas or have retained an attorney.
