Biden seemingly froze on stage during a major fundraising event this weekend, only to be “unfrozen” by former president Barack Obama who grabbed his arm.
The bizarre moment has re-sparked a question: why is Biden even running again?
The ordeal was ridiculed as it made its rounds on social media, and it continues to be a leading topic of conversation today with prominent voices dubbing it a perfect picture of Biden’s sinking campaign.
“So embarrassing,” Piers Morgan said Sunday. “The Democrats can’t let this go on, surely?”
Morgan penned a scathing op-ed about the embarrassing episode, labeling it “the moment everyone realized the president’s not fit for office.”
“Within a few hours, a staggering 7.5 million people had viewed my post and many thousands of those had liked, reposted or commented on it,” he said of the video he shared.
“As I thought, the vast majority shared my honestly held opinion that President Biden is no longer fit for the highest office in America.”
“When the last Democrat to occupy the White House has to literally grab the current one because he notices he’s had yet another ‘senior moment’ and appears to be paralyzed like a statue on stage, it has to be the wake-up call everyone in the party must urgently heed before it’s too late, doesn’t it?” Morgan asked during another part of his article.
“There is not a snowball’s chance in hell that he can possibly get through another four-year term of presidency — and everyone knows it,” he added.
Left-wing influencers have conducted damage control since the viral frozen moment, as reported by Trending Politics co-owner Collin Rugg.
“For the record this did not happen and is a total lie,” David Hogg said.
“MAGA IS LYING AGAIN. The new lie is that Biden had to be “led off stage” by Obama and that he “froze” but that is COMPLETELY FALSE!” posted Harry Sisson.
“Right-wing media is becoming so desperate they’re just making up fake stories out of thin air,” Brian Tyler Cohen wrote.
White House senior deputy press secretary Andrew Bates torched mainstream media outlets for pushing “cheap fakes” about the moment, calling out The New York Post specifically for “disrespecting its readers” and “itself once again.”
“Their ethical standards could deal with a little unfreezing,” he added.
Morgan called on Bates in his op-ed to help him secure a one-on-one interview with Biden, highlighting that he’s “unsuccessfully requested many times.”
Others on social media swiftly blasted Biden over the moment, leading Morgan to ask the question: “Why is he still running?”
Bill Ackman, a former Democrat supporter and donor who’s now likely choosing Trump, according to the Post, called out Biden for his “perception of weak leadership.”
He then ripped the Democrat Party for “destroying itself by advancing Biden for a second term.”
“This is the Emperor’s New Clothes in real life,” he said, adding, “a Biden second term is a grave threat to global security and prosperity.”
Ackman’s post prompted a reaction from Billionaire Shark Tank star Mark Cuban who defended Biden by echoing the same sentiments of many left-wing influencers.
“Both candidates are old. Very old,” Cuban quipped. “They both are going to have senior moments, mis-remember, forget things and have physical frailties.”
“One is great at soundbites, but also thinks in soundbites,” he continued, comparing Biden to Trump. “The other is awful at soundbites, but thinks in complete sentences.”
“Voters will decide which we prefer.”
Morgan highlighted this exchange between the two business moguls in his op-ed, writing, “The instant barrage of replies to Cuban’s message said it all.”
“Virtually nobody agreed with him,” he continued. “Many openly mocked him, which is hardly surprising given that even two-thirds of Democrats think Biden’s too old to be running again.”
Morgan concluded, “If Joe Biden is still the Democrat candidate, Donald Trump will be re-elected.”
