Democrats keep telling us there is no big crime going on, like when Gavin’s press release said “Preliminary data suggests property and violent crimes in California were down in 2024.” If I turn my guitar amp down from 10 to 9 it’s still pretty loud, right?
Newsom deploys new crime-fighting teams across California amid Trump crackdown
California Governor Gavin Newsom (D) will deploy “crime suppression teams” throughout the state amid President Trump’s crime crackdown.
“When the state and local communities work together strategically, public safety improves. While the Trump Administration undermines cities, California is partnering with them — and delivering real results,” Newsom said in a press release.
“With these new deployments, we’re doubling down on these partnerships to build on progress and keep driving crime down,” he continued.
Teams of the California Highway Patrol (CHP) will work with local law enforcement in San Diego, Inland Empire, Los Angeles, Central Valley, Sacramento and the San Francisco Bay Area.
“I want to thank the Governor for being a collaborative partner. The best way to address crime and other top challenges is through partnership and this is an example of that,” Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass (D) said in a press release.
Probably the best way to address crime is to arrest people breaking the law, charge them, prosecute them, and punish them. Getting rid of Proposition 47, which made anything under $950 basically a slap on the wrist would be a good start. Cops do not even waste time with shoplifting. People are lucky if they even come to take a report, for which is only helpful for insurance claims. Dumping all the far left prosecutors who like to either reduce felonies to misdemeanors or dismiss the charges would help. Dumping the crazy judges who give absurdly lenient penalties would help.
And, you know what would help? If the Democratic Party politicians would stop bashing law enforcement and have their backs, so that cities and counties would not be down by lots of officers. Overall, the state probably needs thousands of new officers. The LAPD is down at least 750 officers, and reports say classes for new officers are half full. San Francisco is short around 500 officers. San Diego is a couple hundred short. CHP is about 16% short.
So, send all those extra officers is not “doing things to people”? Seriously, this is TDS. He can’t just deal with the problems in the People’s Republik Of California, no, he has to Make It About Trump. I wonder if the CHP will actually be allowed to arrest people.
CHP will work through intelligence sharing, crime deterrence techniques, assist in investigative work and increase law enforcement visibility.
So, looks like they won’t really be out there busting criminals. Just being political pawns for Newsom. This is all hilarious, because, they are going to prevent Trump from addressing the crime problem by addressing it themselves? That kind of sounds like a Trump victory. Does anybody really think he would of done that if Trump wasn’t bringing the heat? Newsom saw that Trump’s hard on crime was polling well and decided to steal the idea and claim it as his own.
