The mother of the Minnesota transgender shooter who killed two children at a church before killing himself on Wednesday is reportedly refusing to cooperate with the authorities.
“We have not been successful in talking to the shooter’s mother, yet, at this time,” Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O’Hara revealed during a Thursday press conference.
Instead of talking to the police, Mary Grace Westman, the mother of transgender shooter Robin Westman, has retained a criminal defense attorney, according to Fox News.
When asked why she’s chosen to go this route, her attorney Ryan Garry said she’s “completely distraught about the situation and has no culpability but is seeking an attorney to deal with calls like this.”

O’Hara did confirm, however, that the police have been in touch with the shooter’s father. But it’s not clear yet whether the shooter had lived with his mom or dad, as he’d reportedly been linked to three addresses.
What’s known is that the FBI was seen outside Grace Westman’s condo in Naples, Florida, on Wednesday, hours after the mass shooting, but she either wasn’t home or refused to open the door.
By Friday, it was reportedly suspected by some that Grace Westman had pretty much “fled” her home.
Meanwhile, on Thursday, a piece from NBC News revealed that police were called to a Minneapolis area townhouse where Grace Westman and her son had lived seven years ago.
“The heavily redacted police report … obtained from the police department in Eagan, Minnesota, is dated Jan. 26, 2018, and it includes a two-word description explaining why an officer was dispatched to that address: mental health,” the network noted.
The police report also included a synopsis that said the cops had “assisted Mendota Heights with a check welfare of a juvenile.”
This police report was preceded by another one from two years earlier, when the cops responded to a “criminal offense” at the home. Unfortunately, most of the report’s content has been redacted.
All this comes as some critics allege that Grace Westman deserves at least some blame for her son’s mass shooting on account of her “affirming” his delusional beliefs about his own gender.
“[Grace] Westman signed off on her son’s legal name change, which went from Robert to Robin, in 2020,” according to the New York Post. “He was 17 years old when he changed [his] name.”
She is afraid to confront reality, just like she was afraid to confront her child’s delusions.

Ah, so the white, liberal mom was the groomer.
This is what an absence of masculine leadership does to a boy.

He “transitioned” when he was about 16….Which means the mother/parents groomed him.
That’s why she is accountable for it, at least partially.

The shooter’s mother helped him change his name to match the ideology. Now kids are dead, she’s lawyering up, and pretending she has no role. This is what enabling poison looks like.

It’s crazy that parents are still falling for the narrative that they are helping their children by allowing them to change their gender. These kids need mental health counseling, not a gender change.

So the mother helps him change his name, ignores every red flag, and now “no culpability” while Catholic kids are in coffins? Spare me. Parents who enable the delusion don’t get to wash their hands of the chaos.

Westman, the shooter, reportedly admitted in his manifesto that he’d been “brainwashed” into the trans movement.
He specifically said he “was tired of being trans” and wished he had “never brain-washed” himself.
“I can’t cut my hair now as it would be an embarrassing defeat, and it might be a concerning change of character that could get me reported,” he wrote. “It just always gets in my way. I will probably chop it on the day of the attack.”
“I regret being trans. I wish I was a girl, I just know I cannot achieve that body with the technology we have today. I also can’t afford that,” he added.
