There are moments when sarcasm, irony, and even mockery are enough to highlight the absurdities of politics. But there are also moments when levity is insufficient—when the reality is so stark and the behavior so grotesque that there is nothing left but righteous anger. The aftermath of the Minneapolis Catholic school shooting is one of those moments.
The facts are simple: a transgender-identifying individual, Robert “Robin” Westman, entered a sacred space—a Mass at Annunciation Catholic School—and opened fire on children. Two young lives were taken. Seventeen others were injured. It was evil in its purest form. And yet, instead of mourning, Democrats and their allies in the press saw an opportunity—not to console, not to comfort, but to advance a narrative.
Prayer is not freaking enough. Prayers does not end school shootings. prayers do not make parents feel safe sending their kids to school. Prayer does not bring these kids back. Enough with the thoughts and prayers.

Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey, standing before grieving families, took a shot at Christians themselves, saying, “And don’t just say this is about ‘thoughts and prayers,’ right now. These kids were literally praying!” The implication was unmistakable: their faith had failed them. Prayer was meaningless. The subtext was worse: Christians are foolish for believing otherwise.
That wasn’t just a gaffe. It was contempt. To believers, prayer isn’t a throwaway phrase or a political slogan—it is communion with God Himself. It is the acknowledgment that even in the face of darkness, God remains sovereign. For Democrats and their allies to sneer at prayer, to treat it as an empty gesture, is to spit directly on the beliefs of the victims themselves. These children died while praying. And the response from the left was to mock what they held most sacred.
These children were probably praying when they were shot to death at catholic school. Don’t give us your fucking thoughts and prayers.

Then, as if to twist the knife further, Frey and others rushed to make sure the “trans community” was protected from criticism—this despite the fact that the murderer himself was transgender, leaving behind a manifesto filled with bile, threats, and political slogans. The Christians in the pews—the ones who were actually targeted—were treated like an afterthought. The real sympathy, the real protection, was directed elsewhere.
This is not compassion. It is moral bankruptcy. It is the inversion of reality, where killers become martyrs, and the faithful are ridiculed for their faith. And it underscores something essential: Democrats cannot be reasoned with on these issues. They do not share the same moral framework. When Christians are murdered at worship, Democrats mock prayer. When deranged individuals commit atrocities, Democrats excuse the ideology and demand more “gun control” in states where gun control already exists.
Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey proves he doesn’t know anything about firearms:
“We have these assault rifles that can reel off 30 clips in conjunction with a magazine before the person needs to reload.”

Minnesota already has red flag laws. Minnesota already has strict restrictions. None of it stopped this. But the left’s answer is always the same: more laws, more control, more scapegoating of lawful gun owners. Never accountability for the cultural rot they’ve cultivated. Never acknowledgment of the destructive ideology they’ve promoted—the one that convinces young people that gender is fluid, that biology is irrelevant, that self-mutilation is “care.” And when those same individuals descend into violence, Democrats shield the ideology at all costs.
