Debbie Wasserman Schultz has been one of the most unhinged voices in the Democrat Party for years.
But even by her standards, this latest outburst crossed into dangerous territory.
And Debbie Wasserman Schultz exposed her true agenda with one accusation that backfired spectacularly.
Wasserman Schultz goes completely unhinged on CNN
Florida Democrat Representative Debbie Wasserman Schultz appeared on CNN’s Newsroom Sunday and delivered what might be her most inflammatory attack yet on President Donald Trump and Governor Ron DeSantis.
The former Democrat National Committee chairwoman didn’t just criticize the Everglades immigration detention facility known as “Alligator Alcatraz.”
She went nuclear with accusations that would make even the most partisan Democrat blush.
“They have declared war on people of color,” Wasserman Schultz said, referring to Trump and DeSantis.
But it gets worse.
She claimed the facility represents “human rights abuses that are incomprehensible” and accused Republicans of deliberately wanting to “abuse human rights.”
CNN’s Jessica Dean – who normally serves as a reliable ally for Democrats – didn’t even bother to follow up on these explosive accusations.
That tells you everything about how baseless these claims really are.
Wasserman Schultz also predicted that “a lot of people are going to end up dead” because of Trump being in office.
This is the same person who was forced to resign as DNC chair in 2016 after emails revealed she was rigging the primary against Bernie Sanders.
Democrats launch coordinated attack on immigration enforcement
Wasserman Schultz isn’t operating alone in her attacks on the Everglades facility.
She teamed up with Oregon Senator Jeff Merkley to lead a coalition of more than 60 Democrats demanding answers from the Department of Homeland Security about the facility.
The lawmakers want DHS to provide detailed information by September 3, including identifying the legal authority that allows Florida to run the facility and confirming it meets federal standards.
They’re also demanding information about legal access for detainees and the environmental impact of the facility.
But here’s what they won’t tell you – the facility is operating completely within the law.
DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin confirmed that the facility complies with federal detention standards.
The Trump administration even designated the Krome North Processing Center near Miami as a site for immigration court cases to be heard, addressing concerns about legal access.
Despite this, a federal judge ordered a preliminary injunction halting further expansion of the facility after environmental groups filed a lawsuit.
What this really reveals about the Left’s strategy
Strip away Wasserman Schultz’s inflammatory rhetoric and you see the real story here.
Democrats are terrified that Trump’s immigration enforcement is actually working.
The Everglades facility – which Governor DeSantis has praised as an effective way to increase deportations – represents everything the Left opposes about America First immigration policy.
DeSantis made this crystal clear at a July press conference at the facility.
“The whole purpose is to make this a place that can facilitate increased frequency and numbers of deportations of illegal aliens,” DeSantis explained.
That’s exactly what the American people voted for when they elected Donald Trump.
But rather than acknowledge the legitimacy of enforcing immigration law, Democrats resort to their usual playbook of throwing around accusations of racism and human rights violations.
Wasserman Schultz’s claim that Republicans have “declared war on people of color” is particularly revealing.
It shows that Democrats view immigration enforcement through the lens of race rather than law and order.
This isn’t about protecting vulnerable people – it’s about protecting the Democrat Party’s future voter base.
Think about it.
Every illegal alien that gets deported is one less potential future Democrat voter.
That’s why Wasserman Schultz and her allies are so desperate to shut down facilities like Alligator Alcatraz.
They’re not concerned about “human rights” – they’re concerned about political power.
The fact that DeSantis is already working on opening a second immigration detention facility called “Deportation Depot” has Democrats in full panic mode.
This facility will hold around 1,300 detainees and is expected to open next month.
For too long, Democrats have gotten away with using inflammatory rhetoric to shut down legitimate immigration enforcement.
But Americans are seeing through their tactics.
When Wasserman Schultz compares legal detention facilities to “internment camps,” she’s revealing the desperation of a party that knows it’s losing the immigration debate.
The American people want secure borders and swift deportations of illegal aliens.
President Trump and Governor DeSantis are delivering exactly that – and no amount of unhinged rhetoric from failed politicians like Debbie Wasserman Schultz is going to stop them.
