Maryland Governor is beating the hell out of Trump in public while private clip shows him gushing like a teenage girl

A clip from Fox News Digital’s The Art of the Surge came in handy after President Donald Trump made reference to a meeting with Democratic Maryland Governor Wes Moore.

Moore and Trump have been locked in a battle over whether the National Guard should be deployed to help curb crime in the state. While the president believes Baltimore is “out of control” and “crime-ridden,” the governor claims that this is all a ploy to distract from the Epstein files.

During his marathon presser on Monday, which covered a wide variety of topics, Trump recounted a meeting with more in which the president claims Moore called him “the best president of my lifetime.”

“I met him at the Army-Navy game. They said, oh, there’s Governor Moore. He’d love to see you. He came over to me, hugged me, shook my hand. You were there? He said, ‘Sir, you’re the greatest president in my lifetime.’ I said, well, it’s really nice that you say that. I’d love you to say it publicly, but I don’t think you can do that, so it’s okay,” Trump said. “But no, ‘Sir. You’re doing a fantastic job. I want to just shake your hand.’ Thank you very much, Governor. That was that.”

Moore jumped on X to deny this, and Fox News host Will Cain revealed that the outlet actually had footage of the meeting in question, courtesy of The Art of the Surge.

The clip shows a visibly excited Moore enthusiastically welcoming the president as the two briefly discuss some state-level issues the governor has been dealing with, and Trump offering to help him out.

While this clip cuts off before the end, the rest of it goes on to show Trump inviting Moore to join him at the game, which Moore politely declines.

Trump recounted this story later, despite the Fox News clip appearing not to show Moore explicitly saying the words “you’re the greatest president.”

“I watched a man from Maryland who said to me, ‘I mean, sir, you’re the greatest president. You’re doing an unbelievable job. What a great job.’ Governor Moore, has anyone heard of him? He’s another hopeful for president. I don’t think so,” Trump stated. “But I met him, and I didn’t realize it was on camera. Did you see? They caught him on camera? I was at a game, I don’t know, like the Army-Navy game or something. And I met them in a hallway. And, as usual, you do your job very well. One of these great cameramen had it on tape.”

“But I met this gentleman. I never met him before. ‘Sir, you’re doing a great job. You’re doing an unbelievable job. Thank you very much.’ But then he goes on television and says, ‘Oh, Trump is a dictator. He’s a dictator.’ And a lot of people hear it,” the president added.

But it would appear that chivalrous behavior is over, as Moore positions himself in opposition to Trump’s crime-fighting policies.
